## Trees Wonderful Trees ~  #treetuesday hosted by @old-guy-photos

Walking beneath the trees a deep gratitude sweeps over me,  the utmost enjoyment offered in birds, spiders, lizards, worms, ants always some added extra enjoyment looking up into trees. 

Character of the tree may come from the shadow it throws down to the ground, knowledge in planting itself to grow, remaining strong with roots going deep down into the earth stabilizing beneath the ground to hold the swaying branches above. 

First up is the White pear, bird's eye tree ideals for planting around a home without fuss all year round, ever-green no messy fruit and rounds that don't distrub foundations or paved areas. Offer a soft white fragrant blooms in summer.

<sup>Red aril makes fruits attractive to birds, a hardy wood for implements in and around the home. Zulu nation use this in traditional medicine. Root bark infusion is made for intestinal parasites or an enema, leaves are used in treatment of ear inflamation.</sup>

Caterpillars called this tree home, spinning themselves into the branches, using the tree to move into next stage of life possibly, always interesting how trees are used in a variety of forms in nature.

<sup>Possibly a Precessionary Caterpillar then transforms into a moth, eating their way through the tree before able to spin their silk purse-like communal cocoon waiting to pupte to emerge as moths in Spring.</sup>

A rich and colorful ant fauna lives entirely in the trees, nest building behaviour where workers construct nests by weaving together leaves using larval silk, I have only ever seen them up in Northern Natal, do they belong here or migrated down?

One thing with all living entities, do not touch you never know whether they are able to bite or sting having adverse affects on humans, so the camera captures life on the move only. <sup>Some form of Weaver Ant up in the tree weaving, the tree exudes a sap they appearing to enjoy too.</sup>

Trees upon trees, I believe this is the Wild Fig throwing it's branches around another tree which will eventually disappear when the wild fig is established to take up the space. Strangler fig is another name used and to the best of my knowledge they are one and the same.

<sup>Seed drops on to branch of another tree, germinates sending roots down to the ground, fusing to the tree it landed up on, in time the tree will die off, known to land on rocks and splinter rocks to make way for growth.</sup>

Whether we sit under a tree for shade from the heat, be sure to look up something will be happening further up in the tree, reconnect with nature watching clouds dancing overhead forming paterns, allowing your mind to wander.
