I painted a giant acrylic mural in my Riverside, California living room. Some of the elements of that painting also stand alone, particularly a bold blue ramp structure that can be seen in this animation. 

It reminds me that growing is always an upward climb--and always worth it--regardless of the obstacles. In my culture it is what we call a "Nevertheless Attitude." This radically determined frame of mind can be best and most often seen in King David, particularly from 2 Samuel 5:6-7. 

"The king and his men marched to Jerusalem to attack the Jebusites, who lived there. The Jebusites said to David, 'You will not get in here; even the blind and the lame can ward you off.' They thought, 'David cannot get in here.' Nevertheless, David captured the fortress of Zion, the City of David."
