I drew this fun illustration as a way to communicate a rather serious consideration that I’ve been thinking about. Mind you, this is not a life or death matter. So no one need to freak out. However my ponderings do carry some heavy issues for the business-minded folks who are following the new developments in crypto social networking. It has to do with the future of these communities.

My questions are specific to the ONO social network. It currently has almost 4 million worldwide users. Yet in a broader sense, these principles could apply to any group wanting to make sure that they have an impact and a legacy to be pleased with. Who we are aligned with matters. 

Therefore the concepts that I will discuss, while specific to ONO and EOS, have a broader and generic application to any crypto social network (or as I like to call them, crypto social meritocracies). That's because these platforms are so new, that we still don't really know what their life-cycle is. Remember the lessons learned from MySpace and Twitter. At one time, they ruled their industry. Now however, that is not the case. So bear with me as we talk crypto social network business and strategic alliances.

First off, let's get this out of the way; ONO is a great application. I think everyone using this platform can agree with that. Community members are there because they like being here. However it is important to consider all options especially as a community in its infancy. Therefore I’m going to propose a question as an option that might be a little unsettling to some, but I’m posing it anyways.

**Assuming it were possible for ONO to re-join the EOS blockchain, should they, as a community, decide to pursue this goal for sustainability, growth, and marketing purposes?**

I understand the reasons why ONO had to initially go its own way... away from the EOS chain back when the ONO product was first launched in beta earlier in 2018. I am simplifying the issues here, but EOS wasn’t quite ready while ONO was ready. Now however, EOS is up and running, poised to become what it has set out to become, a world operating system on the blockchain. That’s pretty exciting! So what I’m wondering is if ONO would be better off re-joining the EOS community?

I could think of a number of benefits to re-joining EOS. The most obvious one would be a wider variety of parallel infrastructure on a richly funded network. This would include access to EOS exchanges and various multi-crypto wallets that would support the tokens running on EOS.

The EOS community is massive compared to ONO. So ONO could really benefit from the cross application use cases and potential development. I certainly think that EOS tokens and things built within the EOS blockchain will soon have many exchanges that support all the various airdropped EOS tokens.

What I’m also saying, becasue I see this happening, is that EOS token holders have a built-in affinity for other applications that run on EOS. People in that community want to keep things in the family, so to speak. So if the ONO community got fully back into the EOS community it would naturally widen ONO's reach and the opportunities for development that come with such heightened exposure.

Another big reason I see for getting back into the EOS community is the soon-to-be launched new version of Steemit (as yet unnamed) running on EOS. It’s not a matter of “if” that platform takes off, but when. And even if the beloved original version of Steemit and the new EOS version of Steemit, and ONO, and Whaleshares are all great products, at the end of the day, there’s only room at the top for one or maybe two crypto blogging social network ecosystems. Influencers may do well to see that re-joining the EOS ecosystem directly puts ONO in a strategic advantage for future collaboration and growth.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying ONO does not have great development. It certainly does; the app is an awesome cross between Instagram, Steemit, and Telegram. I can tell that from how much the application has grown in just the past few months. That’s not the issue. The issue is this: as a highly strategic partnership focused on growth and long term survival, should the ONO community consider getting back in with EOS?

I’m sure if the ONO community decided to rejoin with EOS, that this merging process would be difficult, costly, and controversial. That is probably all true and full of many surprises. Nevertheless, all these platforms are in their infancy stages. So I respectfully pose this question:
**Is merging back into EOS something that ONO should take seriously?**
