Why I hold my Polkadot and Kusama on lead wallet.

If you’ve been active in the crypto space for much of the last quarter of 2020, you’d come across the term ‘Polkadot’ at least twice per day. Powered by amazing interoperability technology, Polkadot project has grown so much in popularity and so have projects in its ecosystem. With many new projects emerging from the Polkadot ecosystem; you are probably watching a couple of Polkadot-affiliated projects.

Built in a similar fashion as Polkadot; Kusama – an experimental development environment for teams who want to move fast and innovate on Kusama, or prepare for deployment on Polkadot, has also delighted cryptocurrency investors. Two amazing projects, related technology…same team. It’s hard to ignore these two projects poised to make a bold statement in the crypto space.

Well, I got charmed personally and recently bought some Polkadot (DOT) and Kusama (KSM). However, Polkadot and Kusama team haven’t released any official (mobile) wallet for holding these coins. Thanks to the hard-working infrastructure developers in the crypto space; a wide array of wallets from developers are available for safe keeping of Polkadot or Kusama.

After considering the different available options, I finally decided to store both coins on LEAD wallet

But.. why?

You’d wonder, there are tons of wallets available to store Polkadot and Kusama, so why did I choose Lead wallet despite still being in its beta stage of development. I will tell you…

Support for both Polkadot and Kusama

During my search for the best available wallet to store my newly bought Kusama and Polkadot tokens, I came across many cool wallets. Unfortunately, most of these wallets supports only Polkadot or Kusama but not both. Despite most of these wallets having support for Multiple assets, only one of Kusama or Polkadot were supported by most of them.

![Screenshot_20201229101625.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/joelagbo/f2bwKxQ7-Screenshot_20201229-101625.png)

Choosing any of these wallets means storing these tokens in two different wallets. Cryptocurrency safekeeping is a very delicate process, managing multiple wallets could add to this vulnerability at all angles. Managing two different wallets basically means managing two different security infrastructures and struggling to keep two passcodes safe and remember two more passwords.

Lead wallet solved this dilemma with its support for these two projects as well as many other cryptocurrencies. It presented an escape from every issue of having multiple wallets and provided me with an opportunity to keep these very important tokens in one place and worry less about keeping numerous wallets or saving two more private keys.

Since discovering Lead wallet, I have moved more assets from other wallets to Lead wallet; this includes my Zilliqa, Binance coin and Tezos holdings. For an investor holding more tokens, lead wallet supports many more coins and the number of coins it supports is constantly increasing.

In-wallet swap services for Kusama and Polkadot.

I personally love the idea of performing a number of operations right from the safety of my wallet. Operations like swapping my coins/tokens for other tokens and accessing staking services. Lead wallet developers have integrated facilities to allow user swap their tokens with other available tokens right on their wallet without exposing their investments to security threats.

![Screenshot_20210112110636 2.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/joelagbo/IuWWSAGe-Screenshot_20210112-110636202.png)

With my Kusama and Polkadot in my Lead wallet, I could easily swap them with other available tokens of my choice. Apart from Kusama and Polkadot, this swap service is also available for other tokens on Lead wallet. This swap service is sleek and simplified for the common user and also comes cheap with very much discounted transaction fee. And of course, it’s fast and efficient!

Lead wallet also features a platform for staking tokens, this is available for POS coins and tokens with staking programs. Lead wallet interface with the staking platforms of these projects to enable its users stake their coins right on their lead wallet. This service is however still in development and I hope to see a finish as soon as possible.

A blissful user interface and simplified user experience

Lead wallet is built with the everyday crypto enthusiast in mind. Lead wallet presents a simple user interface with every feature designed to suit the cravings of every cryptocurrency investor. Designed with simple typography and visual-friendly colors, lead wallet places ‘usability’ as a top priority. Pro or noob; Lead wallet drives every user along with an intuitive design and user-assistance infrastructure. The simple typography, color selection and use of whitespace further simplifies the appearance of the wallet and enables users adapt to its facility.

For a common cryptocurrency investor with no core technological background, a simple wallet is a popular craving. Even a tech professional will prefer the easiest possible way of doing things. Lead wallet hence fits every calibre of cryptocurrency investor in this aspect.

An incredible support Team

After discovering and installing the Lead wallet on my mobile, I reached out to the team behind it. Familiarizing with the support team was as simple and fast as the wallet itself. It was a welcoming atmosphere and within a short period of time I learnt a lot about the project and got all my question answered.

Despite having gained some popularity, most cryptocurrency facilities are still a bit complicated, hence a responsive support team is an essential factor to consider while using any cryptocurrency facility. Lead wallet support team is dedicated to hearken unto its users, answering their questions and guiding them through using the wallet’s provisions. Knowing fully well that I have a team I can reach out and get a rapid feedback once again strengthened my preference for lead wallet.

While communicating with the team, I also learnt about the Lead token. Lead token is the traditional token of the Lead wallet economy. It is meant to fuel the growth of the project in a symbiotic manner. Due the excellent tokenomics behind this token, I also bought some lead tokens from Uniswap.

Being a part of an even brighter future

Lead wallet is in its earliest stage of growth. The wallet is far from finished. New features are added at an incredible speed and the team is relentless in working towards releasing even more exciting features. A packed roadmap and a future to be optimistic about. Lead is poised to be a very strong competitor in the cryptocurrency wallet space. It brings in so many new things to the game and these make a lot of difference. A unique interface which will delight a good number of cryptocurrency investors and many other already existing features and new ones to look out for.

Apart from holding my Polkadot and Kusama in lead wallet, moving other assets to lead wallet and of course holding my lead tokens in lead wallet; being a part of new and promising projects is a very exciting feeling. It is simply irresistible…another factor which strengthened my preference for lead wallet.

Polkadot seems like a good alternate of ethereum and in the last 2 months, it has good price appreciation as well. I have never gone through another in that you mentioned named kusama so no idea about the project and its technology. I also belive that DOT is going to be even more higher with the price.

That's a very thorough explanation. Are they by chance going to have any of the Cosmos ecosystem coins on their wallet? I feel like that is the next "big" ecosystem that is going to take off.

@unbiasedwriter ·
I have been bullish on Polkadot for quite a while, and I am holding some tokens. They are up a lot since I bought them, but I don't want to sell too early, because they might turn into what Ethereum is today... So, even though I bought some at $4, it would be a pity selling at $30 if they will go to $500. Well... who knows :)

But, Kusama sounds interesting, so I am forced to go ahead and read more about it right now!! THanks!
