State of the economy, how are baby boomers faring?

It doesn't matter which part of the world you reside, you must be feeling the impact of the global economy one way or the other unless you occupy an office in the government, embezzling funds at the expense of tax payers, something very common in Africa. Cost of leaving is increasingly becoming unbearable, reading through some posts about what 1 HBD can afford in countries Hivers resides tells me inflation is all over it really doesn't matter where one is situated geographically. 

Not to be pessimistic, I think we have a long way to go before things gets better, the rate of unemployment, pandemic and the current war isn't making things any better. Somewhere in the midst of all the unfavorable state of things I see hope coming from technology side of things, specifically blockchain/cryptocurrency. Considering the abundance opportunity cryptocurrency offers, I see future generations doing well alleviating poverty to some degree.

Baby boomers, how are they doing? we are looking at the older folks between the ages of 58 and 76. From the ones around me, one being my ex boss Garry, I am surprised at him still having to work at his age. I can't precisely recall his age but definitely in his 70s. A very intelligent man in the Radio Frequency field and telecommunication in general. I visited him last month only to see he is now doing solar installations to put food on the table and pay bills. 

It is scary, I don't want to be doing such physical jobs at that age, basically there is no retirement savings or perhaps the savings have been eating up by inflation. Seeing Garry still hustling at his age sends thought through me. Looking around all can see are majority of boomers depending on government grants, money that doesn't last for weeks, some just ignore it and I bet Garry don't even go for the damn government grant.

Robert Kiyosaki falls within the age group of baby boomers, I find it interesting how adaptable he is knowing his specialty is real estate but getting involved in cryptocurrency (Bitcoin) is admirable about him, it shows how he evolves with time. Most people his age won't even think of spending $10 on Bitcoin. He goes on to predict the bottom, which we all are good at but the market always have the final say. 

I can only imagine what goes through the minds of these older folks with no source of incomes, savings now worthless due to inflation, depending on kid(s), relatives that also are in sinking ships themselves looking for ways to escape.

You know, the world turned upside down, I perceived life in South Africa differently, the idea was about the complete security of the country's citizens ... it's strange that this is happening. I sympathize with these elderly people, but, on the other hand, there is something to envy here, they find the strength in themselves to look for an opportunity to earn money.

I admire Garry in this case to remain strong and able to still make a living from working. 
If we have to talk a out the world turning upside down we all know the impact of that, I believe there's enough to go around for us all but mismanagement has led us to where we are now.

Security is far from being averagely good in the country.

I don't think I would like to work like Gary but I think it's kind of unavoidable with all the debt in the world. Nothing really looks that safe and not adapting to the new technology only leaves you further behind.

Looking at the sate of things it really is not looking good. It might take decades for things to change for the better but what we are involve in now has the potential of alleviating the financial hardship

I sure as hell don't want to get working in my 70s like Gary, it's why I'm trying to build towards a future where that age would only be living off my stables or returns.

It really is depressing seeing the old man hustling to pay bills even the wife as well who is a teacher.  I take it a lesson or motivation to make sure I avoid that in my 60s even

I can see myself in the future alleviating poverty. 
But I feel sad for those boomers doing a hard job at that age. 


My dad is retired and has resorted to farming,  each time I speak against that hard labour we have a quarrel... 
Am thinking of creating a Job for him,  probably a store to serve for physical activities instead of farming

We have to strive not to live the kind of life they are living currently when we get there. It really is not the kind of life any of us wish for climbing ladders, working hard at 70s. 

Good thought of creating a less energy intense work for your dad, do it for him you will feel great.
