The Support For Bitcoin: Voters Requirement Before Vote Casting 
We might be heading into a future where support for [Bitcoin](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-bitcoin) is a requirement before voters choose who they cast their votes for, in presidential elections. 

This wouldn't be a surprise considering governments's anti-crypto stance, especially in the US where the Biden administration has demonstrated complete hostility towards crypto in recent times causing crypto-related firms to seek friendly destinations to stay in [business](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-business). 

To make it clear, no one needs to be supported in order to own Bitcoin, since we are dealing with a cryptocurrency that is hosted on the [peer-to-peer](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-p2p) Bitcoin [blockchain](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/blockchain), anyone can create a [wallet](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-wallet) without an intermediary, buy some Bitcoin from the [market](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-market) for their safe keep or whatever anyone chooses to do with their BTC.

##### Why would voters require Bitcoin support to earn their vote? 

As a voter and a Bitcoiner, the support for Bitcoin I want goes beyond acquiring Bitcoin, [trading](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-trade), or [HODLing](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-hodl) it. 

Since [governments](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-government) are unable to shut down Bitcoin and other [decentralized](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-decentralization) cryptocurrencies, regulations that are growth-stifling of crypto have been deployed means to deter the masses from having anything to do with crypto. 

It takes those that have a better understanding of cryptocurrency to ignore the negativity in the media and regulations that seem like the governments have got cryptocurrency under their control like [fiat currency](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-fiat-currency).

The above poll conducted by Michael Saylor gives us an idea of what voters want from their president. 

As mentioned earlier the support Bitcoiners seek is far beyond owning BTC but a government whose Bitcoin regulation isn't targeted at causing investors to pack up and leave for favorable destinations. 

A Bitcoiner wants to own Bitcoin without being heavily [taxed](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-taxes) for owning Bitcoin. 

A Bitcoiner wants to see support for the technology behind Bitcoin, by so doing innovations are encouraged, there could be other use cases aside monetary use aspect of Bitcoin yet to be discovered, supporting the technology could help in fostering innovations. 

Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general offer financial inclusion, the right and freedom to choose the form of [money](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-money) to use. These and many other factors are why some are rather own Bitcoin, hedging against fiat currency that the masses are increasingly losing faith in. 

Therefore it boils down to freedom, whether governments support Bitcoin or not it really does not matter, after all, it has been rarely supported since Satoshi gave it to the world.
