The Passing of 2018: Reflections on the Year

 2018 is finally heaving its last breaths. Is it inauspicious to speak of death with the new year coming? Maybe, to some, but I think of it as sleeping.

So many experiences and so many memories, I've had over this year. Travelling, starting to read and write and create again, entering into a serious relationship, seeing reality as it is. I would like to use an adjective to describe the year, but I resist labelling it as such - just as much as I resist labelling a wonderful human being by his or her occupation. It's dreadfully limiting and in some ways insulting (the effects of which I have borne firsthand).

I've flown to the peaks and dived into the deeps and I think it's the least I could do to accompany 2018 as it drifts off into slumber. "Rest in peace, my friend."

I continued to put a lot of time and effort into crypto, mainly steemit, again for the 3rd year in a row.  As in previous years, I learned a lot and met some great people. The price of steem didn't go the way I wish it would have, and it's having an effect on me. I'm still here every day trying to read and up vote articles and I hope that the new year sees some improvements. It will be fun and interesting to watch, and I will learn something, regardless of what happens!

How have I been impacted by 2018? I think if I started to write a response now, I might...possibly...be done with it by 2020... maybe... LOL!
