Having shared the idea a few times that flying saucer technology was developed in the 1950s, and having burnt through those ideas a bit in the past days, I've looked at them from a couple of different perspectives. It's known that Nikola Tesla was 100 years ago working on and talking about distributing energy wirelessly, and that it would let anyone use electricity from that field without paying for it, the electricity was free as in gratis, free in the economic sense, and would instead have to be funded in some collective effort, similar to how "free healthcare" is not paid for when people use it, instead it is paid for with taxes in a collective effort, and the same with roads. Since human beings tend to mix concepts together, religious mythologies being an example of that, it seems to me that "free energy" tracing back to Nikola Tesla 100 years ago comes from his idea to distribute electricity in a way where there was no way to make sure people paid for it.
