# Survival mode
Have you ever considered “what if everything in the world collapses?” What will you do or where will you run to? How will you survive and not be killed by this disaster? Surviving such event is something that has a ​little time frame. It could happen within your country or all over the world. If it’s just your country, then you'll have higher chances of being rescued before you become fertilizer. Let’s consider the worst-case situation. If you can't be rescued, how will you survive? Let's take a look at some of the best options that you can use to survive an apocalypse.

# Try to find a secure shelter
Whatever type of apocalypse event (*Black swan, climate change, radiation disaster, zombies or alien invasion*) it may be, your first priority is to find the perfect place for safety. Remember your goal is to survive the apocalypse and of what use is that goal when you are dead. So look at for a secure location.  A basement could be a perfect place if you are familiar with the environment.  People will be looking for resources, so try and find a location where you won't attract attention from thieves.  Try and surround yourself with people you know and trust.  Any extra help will increase your chances of survival.

# Source for Food
If you can overcome the first hurdle of securing a safe place of shelter, congratulations one less thing to worry about.  You need to keep yourself alive and that means you require food and water supplies to build your strength against any unforeseen circumstances. If the apocalypse is within the city you are living, your best location for a food source will be a grocery store. As long as the ​food is still on the shelves, only take necessary items. Don’t make the mistake of not taking enough and thinking of going back later. You don’t know what is out there and there may be other survivalists like you who will do whatever it takes to ensure they live.  If I've learned anything from the 'The Walking Dead' it is that you can't trust many people during a catastrophic event like an apocalypse​.

# Be on the Alert
You won't know what is outside or where most people will be located, it’s a necessity to be on the watch. You should have protective equipment​​ such as guns, knives etc. If there are none, be creative to make weapons from whatever supplies you can source. A perfect way to start is by using sticks to make spears or look for sharp objects to make knives. 

# Good luck out there
At this point, you should have shelter, food, and weapon for yourself. You’ve got nothing to be afraid of because it’s either you are dead or alive.  You should be conscious of your security and well-being. If you are trying to survive on your own it is going to make the probability of living more difficult. Good luck, and try to prepare now just in case.  Stock up on water bottles, food, and clothing.
