I'm not here to complain about anything.
I think Steem is an amazing platform and is growing very rapidly. Most of the users on here won't make any money. A few will get lucky though, if they catch a whales attention. For the majority, they won't succeed. But, we have think about why we are on Steem. If it is just to make money, then it isn't worth your time. The people that are here to have fun, connect with people on a decentralized network using a blockchain technology; you've already succeeded.

We are still in beta on Steem and obviously it is lacking crucial features.
The devs seems to be making improvements quickly and almost on a daily basis. Which is great, I hope they are still passionate about it even though they've already cashed out a lot. I've worked in startup environments and have seen a few acquisitions where after the buy out everyone stops working. I hope this isn't the case here. With the community consistently growing this will bring demand for new features. In return should bring more developers. I've worked in the development world, and finding good reliable programmers is the most difficult task. A bad programer can set you back months with shotty code. I think a good example is the Ethereum fork.

The system hasn't been balanced yet.
Almost all of the reputation power concentrated to a small group of users. They hold the keys to the castle. Your post may never see the light of day without their magic touch. My advice is to just keep posting, keep building an audience with smaller users. Make sure you are posting quality content, with images, daily. Get into Steem chat and make friends there. The more active you are the more you will stick out. Eventually you'll catch a whale with a fishing pole.

We aren't reinventing the wheel

Nothing is new under the sun. ALL SOCIAL NETWORKS WORK THE SAME. People have been successful and made a lot of money through social media. Steem follows the same principles as other networks. If you want to be successful it requires putting in the time and effort. Your one sentenced post with no picture is not going to cut it.

Steem Inflation

I'm hoping that with more inflation the more reputation will be distributed. We may see more whales selling off their reputations before they become too diluted. This may cause a shift in reputation power. I suggest sticking around while Steem is still fairly new. Get your name out there now and you could be one of the "new money" members. I'm assuming as new members join it is going to be harder to gain reputation.

Trending Articles

Sometimes it's hard reading the trending articles when you are boiling with jealousy. Ignore the jealousy and see what their style is for writing and get an idea of what a successful post looks like. Comment and interact on their posts. Sometimes you'll get paid out for valuable comments. I haven't been so lucky yet, but I've heard other users reaping benefits from commenting.

I spend more time on "New" articles

I check new articles more than trending to up-vote and comment on. I do this for a couple of reasons. A new article can turn into a trending article. But also most posts aren't going to get to trending so we need to encourage newer users to stick around. Plus I believe in karma. If someone writes a quality article they deserve up-votes no matter who they are.

Don't get angry

I'm guilty of getting angry a lot. I'll admit it. I've worked really hard on some of my posts for them to not go anywhere. The truth is I'm a fairly new user myself and I need to build trust within the community. I have seen improvements to my account and have seen growth. This is a long process for most, and short process for some. Keep positive, keep posting, keep smiling. Just by keeping a positive attitude you'll feel better.

Why are you here?

I'm here because I enjoy writing about a few different subjects. I'm interested in politics, cryptocurrecy, memes, jokes, and many other subjects. I am here to learn more and grow as a person. Figure out why you here and think about that instead of the money.

Hope you enjoyed,
