How did your weekend go about? For me, yesterday was a hit! What I want to share with us seems to be a mixed feeling but I was super excited about the whole activity.
The reason I am sharing how my Sunday was in this community, CCH, is because yesterday's event seemed to be like a tour for me. Not to worry, as follow me along in this article you'll get to know why.
So, my church is preparing for a programme that is best of its kind; it is our golden jubilee celebration! This programme will be starting from 30th of November till 4th December. The programme happens to be our yearly conference, but this time, we are celebrating our 50th year anniversary.
In Order to express our joy, we wished to invite other people to join us in the celebration. One way of doing that was to go to a rally. This rally took place yesterday, indirectly this is the main essence of the article, sharing with us my experience during the rally.
The rally actually operated in three different stations: Uyo, Eket and Calabar. Luckily, I was in Uyo and all pictures seen in this post are for my station. At exactly 3pm, we took off from our meeting point to rally round Uyo local government.
Interestingly, Uyo is where I do come from and I've lived here right from till now; but some of the places we went to during the rally seemed strange to me. I became a stranger in my fatherland, lol. I don't want to talk about how I felt while rallying round the whole city; imagine doing what you haven't done for over 3 years, just imagine that feeling that is what happened to me exactly.
For the attendance during the rally, I must say that I saw one mind, one purpose, unity in everything that happened along the street; everyone was aimed at publicizing to anyone they come across that the conference is coming up this week. We actually succeeded in persuading many, and so far they have agreed to be in attendance.
Dance, jump, shout and other galores were the order of the day. However, what made me feel I had achieved a lot was being able to locate new places here in my hometown. Now, I've seen why it's good to stroll out sometimes.
So friends, I want to formally invite you too. Come and share in our joy, not just sharing let's edify our body with God's Word during the conference. Just to add, there'll be free accomodation and feeding.
This was exactly how I went about in my Sunday evening activity.
