Today, once again, God speaks to us and shows us that faith has little to do with the absence of problems; faith has more to do with the presence of God in the midst of them.

Here we read: "the valley of the shadow of death." This represents those very dark moments where we are overcome by uncertainty, fear, or even pain. However, David declares with complete certainty, "I will not fear."

David declares that God will always be with him. This teaches us that peace does not come from the absence of problems or difficulties; peace comes with the simple certainty of knowing that we have God's company at all times. We see two symbols of the shepherd's care: the rod that protects us from the enemy, and the silent one that guides and corrects us. It is the Holy Spirit of God that not only defends us but also guides us on the right path. It also gives us encouragement. Perhaps it is easier for us to allow ourselves to sink into fear, but God's presence lifts us up and gives us strength to continue. All of this encourages us to remember that even when we face these most difficult times, we are not alone, since not even the deepest darkness can extinguish the light of the One who accompanies us at all times.

> Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Psalm 23:4

Hoy una vez mas Dios nos habla y nos demuestra que la fe poco tiene que ver con la ausencia de los problemas, la fe tiene que ver con la presencia de Dios en medio de los problemas.

Aquí leemos: "valle de sombra de muerte", esto representa aquellos momentos muy oscuros donde nos invade la incertidumbre, el miedo o también el dolor. Sin embargo, David declara con total seguridad "no temeré".

David declara que Dios estará siempre con él, esto nos enseña que la paz no viene por la ausencia de los problemas o dificultades, la paz viene con la simple certeza de qué tenemos la compañía de Dios en todo momento. Vemos que hay dos símbolos del cuidado del pastor, se presenta la vara que nos protege del enemigo y el callado que nos guía y nos corrige, es el espíritu Santo de Dios que no solamente nos defiende sino que nos guía por el camino correcto. También nos infunde aliento, quizás para nosotros es más fácil dejarnos hundir en el miedo pero la presencia de Dios nos levanta y nos dará fuerzas para seguir. Todo esto nos anima a recordar que aún cuando se presenta en estos momentos más difíciles no estamos solos ya que ni la más densa oscuridad puede apagar la luz de aquel que nos acompaña en todo momento.

> Aunque ande en valle de sombra de muerte, no temeré mal alguno, porque tú estarás conmigo; tu vara y tu cayado me infundirán aliento.

Salmos 23:4
