# It was a wonderful couple months for altcoins, but it looks like reality is setting back in Bitcoin was sort of the forgotten man these past couple months. Yes it had gone up from $9k to $12k, which is a big move, but that move was nothing compared to what much of the altcoin market was doing. Defi craze swept the globe and coins were going up 10x, 20x, and even 30x. Even the larger projects like LINK saw almost 10x returns. When you look at it like that, the 35% gain by bitcoin doesn't look so awesome. Getting back to levels it hasn't been at in months. My guess is that we are near the lows in altcoins already and probably a peak in bitcoin dominance but we shall see.
