It's alright, such happens when we proclaim our faith in God. I can't help but think it's their loss but we just gotta pray for 'em because they have so much hatred in their heart. Used to be like him in terms of the hate level perhaps and it's really hard to stop hating others unless we start calling out to the Lord for help. I hope your ex-friend will look for God soon before it's too late.

Jesus said he didn't come to bring peace on the earth, but a sword.  When people come at you with verbal swords, it's just proving his point - his teachings and faith in him divides people, just as God divided the light from the darkness on the first day.

It sucks when people lash out, but I think it's bound to happen. Some people just can't help it. I hope he does change for the better later on when things are going better for him.

I'm not ashamed of the gospel either. Personally I try to talk about the goodness of God, and how people should find it in their heart to seek a God. I don't sound pushy too. However I've never had anyone call me names. It gets better. The Bible says believers will go through persecution

Yeah Man! For me anyone can believe whatever they want. What I can see in todays society is amount of bullshit and propaganda everywhere makes people to fight against something that they not even believe or understand and this is a problem. We are living in the BOTS World. Very little amount of people are open-minded and able to see more than what they will read on internet but don't blame tool, blame people :))) It's a crazy world we're living and will not be better. This system is created in the way that it is unstoppable. All Best.

No one should ever be ashamed of his or her faith. Our faith keeps us alive and goes a long way in our lives. We should always be proud of it 

Like this, it's an unsolicited opinion.  It's more telling of his issues than yours. 

I don't believe in any gods, however, either way, it is unprovable. What is provable is the stupidity of humans who are unable to question their own beliefs, and discuss their opinions with others civilly. And, I believe it is getting worse in this regard, as people are now more accustomed to polarized views, all or nothing - there is no nuance, no debate, no compromise, no perspective.

At the end of the day though mate, time known doesn't determine who is a friend.
