Space mining is far from being a reality today, but while technologies are developed, astronomers are like the explorers of yesteryear, they make discoveries that mark the places that will be the objectives of the miners of the future and of all the known asteroids the most interesting are the metallic ones.

Some researchers at the University of Arizona have already located two asteroids near the earth which they have dubbed "mini Psyche" because they are mostly metallic like its predecessor Psyche.

These asteroids are 1986 DA has about 23 kilometers in diameter, its orbit is quite elongated, it takes it at its furthest point from the sun to almost 4.5 astronomical units and at its closest point to 1.2 astronomical units, one unit Astronomical is the distance that separates the earth from the sun, so this asteroid at its closest point to the sun is quite close to the earth.

The other asteroid is 2016 ED85 with a little more than a kilometer in diameter that comes even closer to us, since its closest approach to the sun is 0.91 astronomical units, then moving away to 5.06 astronomical units, that is, the The asteroid's journey takes it almost to the orbit of Jupiter.

These asteroids are not a risk to the earth, they are less than 12 million kilometers from us, the closest approach to our planet will be on January 20, 2098 at the very safe distance of 15,700,000 kilometers, but the interesting thing is that these two Asteroids are much closer to us, they are two flying mines full of metals, a coveted target for future space mining, who will be the first to reach them.
