<h1><center>A Steemy Introduction</center></h1>
I was introduced to Steemit through my journey into crypto currencies. In fact, it was [Crypto0](https://steemit.com/@crypt0) himself who pointed me in this direction. This platform has so much potential, and I am glad finally to be part of it.
Bitcoin has been around for nearly a decade, but I first heard about it a few years ago. Even then, the principle of decentralisation struck me in a most congruent fashion. Back then, it was a little over my head, and I only truly started following with keen interest around a year ago.
This in itself isn’t particularly interesting. However, it’s fascinating for me to note how many of the philosophies surrounding the block chain movement mirror my own. I began penning [*The Book of Life*](http://getbook.at/TheBookofLife) around 15 years ago, writing about many topics that just made sense to me, but not to so many others. The desire to help people has always been strong within me. I’m just not foolish any more.
My somewhat unintentional life path has led me to formulate various opinions and conclusions about modern slavery. It saddens me to see such a technologically advanced society so enslaved to debt, never completely understanding that this exactly what the powers that be have prescribed. Tragically, most never seem to understand what true freedom means, and entails.
The intense frustration I’ve experienced over the decades has been monumental. Living with the knowledge that there was a better way forward, but seeing my fellow man in a terrible rut drove me crazy. Listening to idiots on the idiot box regularly preaching to the captive finally drove me to publish, and continue doing so.
Social Media has lost its way. It’s all about me, me, ME; but who are you — really? No one makes it alone, and yet, I see the same selfishness on a daily basis. It’s the wannabe ‘rock stars’ who demand likes and shares, but then unfollow all their followers. When you treat people like numbers, your time is up. It’s an era begging for a more human existence.
The crypto movement is the new awakening, a computer version of the *Dawning of Aquarius*. I’m so pleased to be amongst so many enlightened people. With this, I Steemit forward into a new age.
