For several years now we have access to different substances; some legal ones like alcohol, caffeine or tobacco to inhaling substances, and other illegal ones, that in some way or another alter the mental, behavioral, cognitive or physiological functions, the point is that the action of these substances is on the central nervous system mainly , there are more than 300 "substance abuse disorders" and also other conditions, such as "substance intoxication" and "substance withdrawal" which are divided into 3 groups: hallucinogens; like LSD and some mushrooms. Depressants: as [benzodiazepines](https://steemit.com/health/@eleyda78/benzodiazepines-solution-or-problem) and alcohol and stimulants like cocaine.

In this case I will only talk to you about alcohol, specifically the "abuse disorder". If you could account to notice I have not mentioned the word "alcoholism" which is the most used to refer to these disorders, but in the latest revision of the diagnostic manual used by psychiatrists there are no longer used terms such as: *alcoholism, problems in the manner of drinking, excessive intake, addiction, habituation, dependence and abuse*
But first I would like to tell you the daily amount recommended by the experts, and would be 30 or 20 grams of alcohol for men and women respectively, for most drinks would be 2 or 3 depending on the case and with 1 hour of separation between them, here are some examples of how many grams would have some common drinks:

I used the wine to represent the fermented alcoholic beverages of grapes and ripened, they have an approximate alcoholic degree of 12º, it should be noted that there are many different types of wine such as red, rosé and white. We can also differentiate "young" and "old" wines, besides they are very versatile, they have uses for the preparation of meals and desserts, medicinal effects such as being an antidote in poisoning by some plants or 1 glass a day is recommended by its antioxidant effects.

Cubalibre, one of my favorite drinks this was born during a war that had the United States against Spain and the military gringos usually mixed rum with cola and so this drink was born, since the slogan that the Cubans shouted was "Cuba Libre" or good that it is what is told. the alcoholic beverage used is the rum which is a fermented sugarcane distilled and sometimes aged, with an alcoholic degree of 40º, there are different types of rum but this particular drink is the "old rum" or "white rum" , about 40ml is used so put that amount in the image, and complete with cola cola and lemon is placed.

Beer, this alcoholic beverage is fermented from barley mainly or other cereals with washing, can be flavored, but is not distilled or aged or matured, in this case you have to be very aware because there are many types of beers and also various presentations some of 200ml and others of 350ml, also the degree of alcohol varies, in my experience I have seen (and tasted haha) beers ranging from 4º alcoholic degrees to 10.6º

In the case of the distillates I wanted to place the vodka and the tequila, the vodka is not known with exactitude of the origin but the most accepted is that it is Russian, it varies in its alcoholic degree but on average it has 40º it is necessary to consider that it has diverse presentations by example there are preparations with vodka that come with less alcohol. the tequila, with this if there is no discussion in its origin, from Jalisco Mexico is distillate obtained from the agave.

Now, some authors talk about a pathological consumption when the negative effects surpass the positive ones (?) -Usually this happens quickly and frequently- also that the consumption is frequent or intense, and changes in the behavior, these patients will have chronic or recurrent problems in various aspects, they neglect their family obligations or even their recreational activities and they can even beat people who care about them.

The effort they put into employment now is lost, all for prioritizing alcohol consumption
When they are drinking alcohol frequently lose control, drink more than they originally planned, also try to abandon or decrease (without success) consumption.
These patients usually have behaviors that involve a risk, for example they know the long-term damage as liver cirrhosis, or short-term as acute pancreatitis. Or adopt immediate risk behaviors such as driving vehicles or having unprotected sex with strangers.
These people also develop "tolerance" which is when alcohol induces a lesser effect with the same dose; these patients must take more to feel the same, and this we often see it as something good between friends.
To determine that a person has an alcohol abuse disorder these symptoms should remain for at least a year.
Now that we can recognize that we have an alcohol use disorder, the main thing is to seek help, for these patients a multidisciplinary team is needed, preferably led by a psychiatrist. What should primary care physicians do? The WHO recommends "brief interventions" that are well-structured interventions of 5 minutes or so that have proven to be useful in these patients.
