Estaba en este fin de semana tratando de ver algo interesante para tratar de suplir la ausencia de House of the Dragons y me he encontrado está particular serie española en la plataforma de HBO. Lo primero que llamo mi atención fue el nombre un simple García! Así con la exclamación, da por a muchas cosas por lo cual entre a verla de que trataba.

# Trama

*La serie trata de García (Francisco Ortiz) un súper espía español de los años 60 con grandes habilidades que despierta en la actualidad, luego de pasar congelado más de 60 años, pero esto no ocurre por si mismo, Antonia (Viki Vellila) una becaria en un periódico recibe un sobre que la lleva a ubicar el paradero del agente, a partir de lo cual se suman en la aventura de descubrir el porque de su congelamiento, y como se adapta este personaje en la España actual.*

# Mi primera impresión

La serie es una adaptación de una obra literaria del mismo nombre, la cual no he tenido oportunidad de leer pero que dentro de su desarrollo hace muchas críticas a los sistemas tanto actuales como de la época de inicio del personaje, esto la heces una propuesta interesante para ver y sobre todo si está involucrado HBO.

En los primeros tres capítulos he notado la serie un poco predecible, y se han perdido algunas oportunidades de desarrollar más al personaje de García, quizás por la intención de hacerlo ver como un James Bond español, pierde un poco de humanidad y por tanto de empatía.

Se han visto alguna inconsistencia en el guión sobre todo en aspectos relacionados con la adaptación de eras, (el personaje se ve tranquilo con el uso de teléfonos inteligentes pero queda sorprendido del internet), hasta ahora la actuación de Veki Vellila me parece la más adecuada, pero es interesante la puesta en escena de flashbacks que le dan sentido a lo actual a partir de la historia de este súper agente.

La serie promete, y espero que sea así, el hecho de tener toda una obra literaria de soporte, le da fuerza a la trama, el aspecto de la realidad política española del siglo pasado es algo que realmente podrían explotar de gran forma si evitan ser parciales en este aspecto, (he visto muchas series españolas que se decantan por un lado de la situación de guerra y enfrentamiento político que hubo en ese país, quitando la oportunidad de mostrar matices más complejos, solo por vender una idea)  sin embargo corre el riesgo de quedar como un nuevo intento de recrear a agentes secretos que no encajan con los patrones actuales, García podría ser una otra gran serie española o quedar como su protagonista, sin encajar en su tiempo.

I was on this weekend trying to watch something interesting to try to make up for the absence of House of the Dragons and I found this particular Spanish series on the HBO platform. # Plot

*The series is about Garcia (Francisco Ortiz) a Spanish super spy from the 60's with great abilities who wakes up in the present, after being frozen for more than 60 years, but this does not happen by itself, Antonia (Viki Vellila) an intern at a newspaper receives an envelope that leads her to locate the whereabouts of the agent, from which they join in the adventure to discover the reason for his freezing, and how this character adapts in today's Spain.*

# My first impression

The series is an adaptation of a literary work of the same name, which I have not had a chance to read but within its development makes many criticisms of both current systems and the time of the beginning of the character, this makes it an interesting proposal to see and especially if HBO is involved.

In the first three chapters I have noticed the series a little predictable, and have missed some opportunities to further develop the character of Garcia, perhaps by the intention of making him look like a Spanish James Bond, loses a little humanity and therefore empathy.

There have been some inconsistencies in the script especially in aspects related to the adaptation of eras, (the character looks calm with the use of smartphones but is surprised by the internet), so far the performance of Veki Vellila seems to me the most appropriate, but it is interesting the staging of flashbacks that make sense of the present from the history of this super agent.

The series promises, and I hope it will be so, the fact of having a whole literary work of support, gives strength to the plot, the aspect of the Spanish political reality of the last century is something that really could exploit in a great way if they avoid being partial in this aspect, (I have seen many Spanish series that are opting for a side of the situation of war and political confrontation that existed in that country, (I have seen a lot of Spanish series that focus on one side of the war situation and political confrontation in that country, taking away the opportunity to show more complex nuances, just to sell an idea) however it runs the risk of remaining as a new attempt to recreate secret agents that do not fit the current patterns, Garcia could be another great Spanish series or remain as its protagonist, without fitting in its time.
