Sometimes I just feel like you take the words from my mind and beautifully present it in a well written post.

The world is indeed changing and this so called country is refusing to change with it. Even when the world wasn't like this there used to be skill acquisition added to our educational curriculum, now when it's most needed, it seems to be absent.

A lot of people underate their skills, some have skills and still don't know they're skills. Like you said, oratory skills is really something but people push aside, Dale carnegie made lots of money teaching public speaking to really wealthy people and with time they saw themselves become wealthier, if you can talk and make people listen you have one of the strongest powers In the world.

Another amazing skill is writing, they're really a lot of skills, communication is a skill, content creation is a skill, these things are generating lots of money for people than the regular barbing and carpentry work does. If only a lot of people can understand and learn. There's no more time to rely on government and our educational systems anymore, now we actually teach ourselves and help ourselves grow.

Crypto is a plus in our lives and I'm glad nigerians adopted it as fast as possible (we no dey dull) and I'm seeing a brighter future for us without any thing that has to do with government empowerment. A time would come when the amount of people seeking white collar jobs would drop drastically, that's what the government is fighting, they enjoy seeing us overly reliant on them.

It's so sad that the whole educational system right from the grassroots is completely flawed.

I had a conversation with a secondary school teacher recently who kept lamenting about the stupid curriculum that makes "civic education" compulsory for all students... Plus a whole bunch of other irrelevant subjects being taught to students. 

The internet has a lot of potential and opportunities and to tap this skills you must be creative and know a platform you can use your skills. Internet is already changing the world

So many talking points in one post, it's crazy how you demystified a lot of complexities in government policies, our outdated educational system, internet of things and disadvantages of living in the third world. How amazing would it be if we can harness and take more advantage of the internet, utilizing and maximizing its potential as a cutting edge tool it really is and not using it to promote fraud and scam. Great work @josediccus 

That's why I am all for a humanistic education model, where you teach people **how to learn**, how to think critically.
Then, ideally, they can navigate the world by themselves and should technology advance, they have the skills to teach themselves the newest thing.

That being said, I think a trade like carpentry or other hard skills, can always feed you and is worth the effort.

btw: _microbiologists_ can work on algae cultivation and things like bioreactors and stuff and even though the processes are driven by microscopic forms of life, those facilities can be huge.

@josediccus, do you know, in a specialized world, generalists tend to thrive the most in their lives? Even if they take time to do it. Trying different things gives you a variety of experiences in many different areas. It prepares you for all the possible situations. You don't need to deep dive into everything. As you mentioned, the internet and tech have provided us with ample opportunities and we can make money by doing what we love from the comfort of our homes.

It's been long while since Nigeria was a government for the people. To survive you have to look past a lot of the economic intimidations and begin positive reflection or else a life of crime might start looking interesting. I see a lot of talented individuals but who do not have platforms to showcase them, I have long since accepted that out government will not provide the basics of anything and it's been a life-changing mentality

Technology is always improving and I think it's opening up the market for everyone. The job market is always changing and with automation coming, I think the job market is going to look very different in a decade. So I think people need to adapt and they may have to learn new skills or be left behind.

I also feel like I have no skill set; I can't make up or make hair, or do most things but hey does cooking count 😆

Anyways I think I also have the oratory skill set because I write and I can create content but it isn't enough, been wanting to get into tech.

That is the plan for this year.

Yes to a large extent all aspect of life matters. Schooling or skill sets, it all matters.
Heavy engineering machines that are used to produce daily consumables are designed and manufactured with acquired knowledge of core engineering systems.
Skill personnel’s can only man the operational sector, repair and maintenance but to proffer solutions to problems, you need a verse idea of the system.
Every aspect is needed, it is interwoven.

There is nothing bad about these things. But the disheartening part is neglecting the vast opportunity the internet can provide either if you possess this skills or not.
Even at that, this wonderful opportunities cannot be accessed if you do not have at least one digital skill. Hence, the need to learn first. But sadly we seldom fail to understand that there is a process for everything.

Like seriously man, you just opened my eyes to alot of hidden truths in our country Nigeria..
How comes in Nigeria universities there are courses one will come and study that you know and clearly know after studying it there's no place for you work, there's no field for you to express your impacted knowledge from school, wowwww, this is rediculous!
I like the fact that am not even centered on Nigeria's economy and waiting for daily bread from the government, hmmmm. I am a student of Biochemistry presently on my I.T left with just a year to round up my degree program, bro infact I am not looking at that certificate to take me to anywhere oo, I thank God the nature of my course is in line with the kind of future investment I want to pursue, it's fortunate that education was the keys to success but really unfortunate that the government has changed the keys, being a successful man doesn't mean that you will not eat, but studying in Nigeria is like being a successful man without food to eat it doesn't even make sense.
The internet is doing a whole lot of good job, am enlighten by what spoke here

Kinda have a feels for this. I am not a master of anything but I have knowledge of some things that might come in handy. I envy those who can do it better or the masters of their craft.  Reading your post gives inspiration.

I perfectly understand the points you are driving. These are the stuffs that runs through my head almost everyday. The lack of platforms for people to jump start their race relative to ther talents or skills is really baffling. Although the lack onky affect the masses to a large extent. Everyobe has something he or she can do but can it be sustained..? Its nkt that the rich has some exceptional featured but they have what it takes for those features to surpass their incubation stages. 
By the way, I have a dream of having something like a Lab, not like the microbiology lab😂. But its a lab,as I call it, cos people would come and pitch any kind of idea, showcase your self, even relax..then if we see how serious you are,we fund your idea!! How do you see this?

It is a shame that people feel they need to rely on government. I have been one such person but have learned that it is the individual who creates their own opportunity. Time to take back personal power.

The politicians are doing somewhat the opposite. They indeed understand the need of people on a massive scale, but they do everything to not fulfill them, while taking (stealing) from them as much as possible. So they are still rich, while most people live in poverty. Some people in deep/extreme poverty.

At least this is what the government of my country (Hungary) is doing. I live with multiple disabilities under the local minimum wage.
