Some people had everything at some point in time in their lives and they didn't need to work or make money to live the kind of lives they wanted, but at some point, certainty isn't guaranteed and this is because we know nothing lasts forever. This means that even people who had everything in life would surely lose a few of these things and it might get to a point in time where they'll be at risk of even losing everything. Now, one thing I've come to understand is that there's no motivator that better than the fear of loss. Most of the time in life, people are often taken aback by the fear of loss so much that it motivates and reminds them to fix every loophole.
### Banks & The Motivation Of *"Fear"* One of the biggest things banks and insurance used to motivate people is the fear of loss, because we even began mobile banking and all, the first selling point of banks in places like Nigeria was the fear of loss, the fear of being overly wasteful and giving in to unreliability. Now, some people have everything and are never conscious of loss, these are some of the people that go from owning everything to owning nothing, however, these types of people are rare as it would take being largely irresponsible to go from owning everything to owning nothing. > Wealthy people are always cautious of loss, except this wealth is unconventional and not made through efforts and struggle. Lottery winners are examples of this. *When people win the lottery, their first instinct is to spend.* **How so?** This is why it's easier for a lottery owner to go from owning a million dollars to having nothing than for a regular business owner to do the same. My main goal for this post is to talk about how 70% of people who had everything given to them suddenly end up being very hardworking when they're facing lack and want. One would expect that these people would be naturally lazy. In an actual sense they are, but not being able to fund the lifestyle they use to have is a bigger motivation than getting their hands dirty. I have seen people who had it all on the internet; the money and beauty to sell. Indeed, beauty is easily a selling point, but sometimes, its utility easily fades away when the desire it brings is met.
### Having All The Wealth Enablements So sometimes people who have everything given to them because of their beauty risks foreclosure at some point in time and this is why they mostly find within themselves an extra value to offer, so they'll continue funding their lives. It's the same with people whose parents are billionaires. These people will have everything given to them including favors and connections simply because of the status of their parents. However, this goodwill will not last forever. This is because we cannot continue subtracting value and relevance from others without showing any value. One of the reasons why the kids of wealthy people often rebel against their parents is because they still live under the shadow and status of their parents irrespective of how hardworking they might choose to be in life. > But they're getting it all wrong. When you are in a position to take advantage of another person's goodwill, it's important to use it to build yourself so that you can separately thrive when these people are no longer there. But the truth is, some people are scared to be their own man, they're scared of hustling, so they'll rather cower in the shadows of others hoping they'll never have to leave there. This is why it's important to understand the loss in the first place. While it's not the best motivation, it creates awareness among people who are especially conscious of their finances. We're all climbers in life, some people are dependent on other climbers to climb, while others would climb on their own.
### True Efforts & Dependency However, one who is forever dependent on others to climb might never appreciate the true effort. However, life's uncertain to an extent and it's not easy to go from having everything to owning nothing, spotting this possibility earlier, and choosing to do something before one hits ground zero. It's psychological. It's better to grow slowly than to suddenly have everything and lose it all. Most people tend to hate me when I ask them to grow slowly, but the truth is, there are lessons we learn by taking two steps forward and a step backward. This means that every loss and how we recover from it is vital training.
### Finances & What You're Born With At the end of the day, no one can control the financial situation they were born into. This means one cannot control how much their parents owned or the money at their disposal, so either we had everything or we had nothing, one still needs to be conscious because being exposed to nothing or having everything brings its advantages of disadvantages, it's always hard to maintain an equilibrium. This is why people must look past the things that were freely accorded to them, eventually, everyone loses at some point and this is the crucial aspect.

> **Interested in some more of my works?**
##### [How To Be "THE" Content Creator You Always Desire](https://hive.blog/hive-153850/@josediccus/vaasjapy) ##### [The Consequences Of Being Overly Assumptive About Money](https://hive.blog/hive-153850/@josediccus/the-consequences-of-being-overly-assumptive-about-money) ##### [A 1.6 Million Naira Use-case For iPhone 14](https://hive.blog/hive-153850/@josediccus/a-1-6-million-naira-use-case-for-iphone-14) ##### [Free Money: What Will You Do With $216k Worth Of Crypto In Your Wallet? > these types of people are rare as it would take being largely irresponsible to go from owning everything to owning nothing. Are they though? Recent events with strong projects collapsing and exchanges getting hacked has produced a lot of these people I’m afraid. Maybe the irresponsibility on their part is leaving their hard earned money on exchanges instead of wallets, or not doing proper research before investing in the wrong projects. But sometimes these types of things just happen even to the most responsible of people, because we have no control of it. I’m pretty sure Sam Bankman-Fried until the collapse of FTX would’ve considered himself responsible, or at least the people that put their money into FTX did. I agree that there are a lot of lessons, good one so to say, to learn from growing slowly. You get to make more mistakes and get several chances to fix them and learn as you do. This will make you more experienced and increases the chance of a permanent growth in the long run, unlike how something like hitting a jackpot once is entirely dependent on luck and there’s no exact guide to hit it again should you lose everything.

SBF wasn't a responsible fellow, the reason is because he was using people's money as collateral while inflating the real value of their FTT coin, it was a well masterminded ponzi scheme and he only thought that he wouldn't drop because of his overconfidence. I think people like SBF are rare, but you'll see him in people like Do Kwon as well. Gambling with people's money when they could have decided to do better. So it boils down to not being responsible. The both of these guys should actually be in jail. However I won't blame people who blindly trusted them. They've been in the game for too long. It was a case of trusting someone who was too legit to quit.

The two definitely were not very responsible. Don’t all the big boys have something up their sleeves though? For now we can’t tell as we only know of SBF and Do Kwon because FTX and Luna have met a terrible fate due to their recklessness. For all we know, even CZ is involved in something probably catastrophic. Let’s hope not though. I mean even if he was, he would’ve learnt from recent events, right?

It's the mindset that is the most important. Money isn't going to last if you aren't using it responsibly and it's why people who win lotteries usually don't end well. Posted Using [LeoFinance Beta](https://leofinance.io/@jfang003/re-josediccus-5svnt7)
