Elon Musk Flexing His $44Billion Purchasing Power; Is This Really About Free Speech?

Make no mistake, Elon didn't just wake up and concluded he wanted to buy Twitter. He's a stylishly vocal man, he might have been active on Twitter a lot, but 2021 seemed to be the year he was arguably more active than ever, why is this? Crypto.

Last year, he singlehandedly influenced the price of crypto with how he tweets about a coin and how he tends to take off his supposed influence after a while. More like when he said Tesla wouldn't be accepting Bitcoin, even if he's pro-bitcoin. While this was for the benefit of the business it sure did take Bitcoin to the brink.

Well, I like to think that Elon's involvement with crypto led him to discover the massive influence Twitter wields. Of course, he noticed how it works and he's probably thinking of the enormous influence that could be exerted from his ownership.

##### But, do we know of the other intents of this massive mad money purchase?

I don't think this is all. I mean, there are mixed feelings about this huge takeover, but there's one synonymity with wealthy people, they like to exert their influence and the first true intent of this influence is to have more money, Musk is a different type of billionaire, he's futuristic, he is a risk takeover, but then, he's wise, he's systemic and he's probably the only billionaire who sees the glimmer influence crypto will have in let's say a decade to come.

Another thing is that he likes to flex his financial power and we can see this through his space programs in the past. Anyone who thinks that this move is to just go empowers people and promote free speech is wrong.

## There are tons of reasons to purchase Twitter

yeah. But it's only one reason that'll make Elon fork $44 billion. The truth is, not many people are paying attention to the figures. When you begin to envisage how much this money is, this is when you'll begin to understand that, there's a predominant force at play.

Musk might be a billionaire but the biggest reasons that I can currently see for this purchase are influence and more money. It's not relatively bad for a billionaire to keep chasing more billions, after all, **Twitter Inc** and Jack Dorsey did it for a long time, I'm thinking this wouldn't just be madly to make more money, there'll be essential to this type of money-making.

I think Twitter will be revitalized, I don't see any changes being made to the external image, I only think that Musk will make some decisions that might seem questionable, why? Because he's a futuristic billionaire, he probably pulls stunts to target things ordinary people might not see, but it's left to see if these decisions would be generally good for Twitter or generally good for him.

As for the famous free speech that's been paraded everywhere, this might generally happen, however. Free speech has its consequences because people tend to abuse anything free. Business-wise, this might not be good. However, the only positive thing to see about this move is that the shadow-banning of crypto-related tweets might stop.

We've experienced this a lot here on Hive, people like @theycallmedan It doesn't just stop here. Since the new owner of Twitter is pro-crypto, are we finally going to see a repackaging of crypto to influence a global adoption? This is something I don't know. Many might argue that Jack Dorsey was pro-crypto, but he wasn't that much of an influence, in reality, Elon is a man that likes to be impactful.

His enquiring about the price of Twitter in 2017 wasn't just because he wanted a share, his wanting a share was only an entry point. The man wanted the whole thing, this is a brilliant correlation to the fact that there's nothing money is incapable of doing.

As for free speech, I don't know. I just think crypto, in general, will see a glorious awakening, adoption-wise, yes, money-wise? I don't know. What does this mean for coins like **doge?**, I think some people might be considering buying some doge in anticipation of the coming few years. Some others are already making some crazy and outrageous decisions.

One thing is, this isn't a takeover that will continue aimlessly. There's going to be an impact that will be felt globally. We're definitely in for a ride. As for decentralized media like the Hive Blockchain, I think this is more of an advantage rather than a disadvantage. The stage is set. Big things are going to happen.

Good words as always man.  Im with you on what you feel.  I think the u.s medias response to this is god awful though, it feels like they see making things worse sometimes.  I think Elon is a more trustworthy personality than others, not that hes 100%.  Critics are skewing this as foulplay, or that free speech means anyone can say bad things.  There will still be rules but i think hes interested in undoing some of the excessive political correctness.  All this stuff with the virus and gender stuff going on past few years.  Keep rockin though man, keep up the work.
