### A conglomerate Of Individuals

Hive is a conglomerate of individuals who are diverse in so many aspects. While a few people wouldn't agree that it's a community because of the disagreement in virtually everything. I'll say it's your modern-day community due to how it's been able to build a framework for almost every individual, give them a purpose, a job, a platform and a use case for their abilities, their profession, passion or even area of concentration in real-time.


 Let's take a look at the human relations. We have more people supporting more people, than we have more people hating on more people, so many are into disagreement of rewards and due to this they cultivate the notion that the chain is censored and controlled by powerful people. It's difficult to place the major characteristics of hive and laud how sophisticated a blockchain it is, if a person who's probably got issues with a whale keeps thinking hive is about blogging and earning alone. 



Face it, many others have more friends on hive, more than they do in real-time, they have people who would champion their cause and promote their disagreement. They've formed a relationship that's bettered their lives, especially financially, wouldn't we say this is an aspect or a feature of a community being practiced on a daily basis? Whenever they try to vent their frustration, they'll have the backing of others who probably have the same view as them, maybe concerning governance, growth, ideas on development and even marketing. 


While a few will criticize constructively, others will do emotionally, while some are focusing on other economic aspects of the chain to accomplish their goals whatsoever. At the end of the day, no one is ever alone on their stance, as there are always others supporting or holding the same opinion.

### The Evolution Of The Term "Community"

Truth is, overtime, the definition of what a community truly is, will evolve. That communal aspect which signifies "sameness" will change. Take for example, in the past the governance of governance was held by a few. Be it monarchy, oligarchy or even socialism. It was always about selecting *"a few"* overtime this has definitely changed and people are given the opportunity to participate.


 Having a voice alone and being able to influence the decision of those in governance has changed, this is probably different from what communalism means. A lot of others feels that hive should have that communal tendency to things like distribution of reward and equality of opportunity just like communalism depicts sharing of the same resources equally amongst a group of people. 


However, this wouldn't work. Why? The human factor eventually comes in. Even if the world agrees to distribute rewards equally in real-time and in governance and maybe a modern-day blockchain, many individuals will rise to counter this, in their bid to control more wealth. Everyone has a human instinct to be domineering, only a few might deny this. My point is, we cannot have a world where everyone agrees, owns the same and have the same.


 A community might have different individuals in terms of class, wealth. Some would be average, others super influential, a few, selected in governance, this doesn't stop them from sharing some certain ideologies that would improve that community where they are all in. Hive is spoiled for choice however, each one share some certain things in Common like hoping hive attains adoption and maybe $10 in the near future, for example, an average user like me and an influential user like @theycallmedan would share sameness in this ideology even if we have different ideologies in other aspects.

### Governance, Blockchain, System Of Government



This is what you'll call uniqueness in diversity. Overtime, more use cases for hive will suffice, be it gaming, dating or other aspects which makes it more applicable to real life and people would be further diversified in what they obviously want from hive. For example, the option to earn from saving HBD recently became *"a thing"*, many might just decide to own an account just to enjoy this sweet feature for their money. In the future, people might have the opportunity to loan their *resource credits* and this would bring further need to own hive and the economics of choices keeps expanding.


 My point is, the decentralization that hive would go through hasn't even gotten to it's peak, especially if you look at how hive has managed to give steem a huge gap in terms of development in just two years. Hive is a community, and it's quite shallow to say it isn't because we have diverse individuals doing this differently.
