How laziness truly works

![1000570374.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/josediccus/1000570374.jpg)

<hr>

So, in the house where I live, I forgot to run the water system that supplies water to the entire house, and I awoke today to find that there was no water.

So I checked the water unit and discovered that the house's owner had not paid for the electricity required to run the water.

Unfortunately, this occurred because I am virtually the only one who runs water for the entire unit in my flat. I did not inherit this responsibility; rather, the remaining flat occupants are terrible at managing the house's activities.

I understand how bad it is to be without water, so I try to take it upon myself; however, doing it on a regular basis causes others to become lazy, but if I do not do it, I get to suffer as a result of their irresponsibility, just as I am today.

We have about 5 people living in this house, and the majority of them never check the water system or pump it; they simply go to their toilets, dump and flush, go to the bathroom, turn on the shower, and take a bath, but they never care about running the water.

Now, even though they neglect it, I take my time running the water because I know how difficult it is to live without clean water, and since they have chosen to be responsible, I simply cannot be with them.

> I have spent my entire life around people like this.

## Lazy people are easily offended

*They are easy to predict:* they do not want to clean their environment, so they pay someone to do it; they can not wash their clothes, so they pay someone or a maid to do it; and it gets really crazy when they can not even run the water system that supplies water to their bathrooms.

These people appear to be all fresh and clean outside, and they even wear expensive clothes and perfumes, but once you enter their living room, it feels and looks like a dumpster. You would be surprised at how many people are lazy, but we rarely discuss how laziness has so many consequences.

## Disability is surprisingly not inability

I saw a video of a man without limbs, and I wondered how they kept their living room so clean. This is because it is difficult enough to do housework, let alone when you do not have any limbs.

But I noticed that the limbless man realized he could not procrastinate. If he fails to do his dishes, he'll end up with a smelly kitchen, but a person who is fully functional will not think this way, because they think they can easily do the dishes anytime, or maybe depend on their wives, partner or siblings to do it, at the end of the day, nobody does it, because they're all counting on someone else to actually do it.

> People can be abled, but their life and mind is complete disability

> Collective irresponsibility has serious consequences, but it is rarely discussed.

Being responsible is not difficult, but some people choose not to be because of carelessness, procrastination, or laziness. We live in a world where quick action can prevent severe damage.

A person who fails to change their car's brakes because they are not ready to go to the mechanic may end up dying on the road when the brakes finally fail, all because of a simple act of irresponsibility.

**People want to always rely on others, but they do not want to be dependable.**

Many don't wants to take up commitments, this is mostly because of laziness, and people can be inherently lazy. It is perplexing that so many healthy and sane people are lazy and irresponsible.

It irritates me when I see something that should be done but isn't. I get this uneasy feeling when the bathroom is dirty, and I can not relax if I have not made dinner or done the dishes.

Maybe it is how I have trained my mind. I recognize potential consequences when I see them. When something is about to become a ticking time bomb, I am quick to recognize it and take immediate action.

This is why I do not mind living with irresponsible individuals. Since I cannot afford a house of my own, being able to tolerate people and forgive their excesses is inevitable . You can either learn to do it or have problems with them.

This is because you cannot change people; confronting them in order to force a change in them only leads to conflict. This is because most people dislike being forced to change. No one truly changes with the influences of others, except they open up themselves to actually do so.

One of the reasons why people choose not to be responsible is that those around them are not, and no one wants to slave for others, so instead of being a light, people would rather be in darkness because they do not want to work so hard for lazy people to reap the benefits of their labor.

The thoughts of not wanting to be a sacrificial lamb for others is a proof that we inherently detest laziness. However, we can easily become what we despise, and that is simply the truth.

In my opinion, I do not mind illuminating someone else's path while also doing so for myself. I know it is heartbreaking to see yourself working or slave for others, but unless you are wealthy and live on an island, putting up with lazy people is unavoidable, albeit one of the most depressing things ever.

What does 'running the water' mean?

Electric pump to pump it to a tank on the roof or something so you got better water pressure?

In most places I have been to, the municipal water is already pressurized in the pipe.

Yeah electricity pumps the water, however someone has to put on the water pumper. So basically no one wants to be responsible enough to put on the pumper and they are mostly alarmed when there's no water and the electricity is gone. There's no constant power here, so.

Is this something difficult to do? Or time-consuming? Or is it sheer disinterest or lack of routine from such people that prevents them from doing these tasks? Or maybe they feel it's beneath them and they are entitled for some reason, even though, when no one does it, they suffer too.

I find myself being lazy and procrastinating quite a bit, so I can kind of understand. It sucks to be the one responsible, but someone has to do it, and forcing others to do it might not end up well. Even if they do it, they might not do a good job or only do it occasionally.

Yeah, forcing others to do stuffs don't end well. Even though they wouldn't do it well, they'd still pick up an issue with you. For me, I like being the one responsible, it's just a little sad that sometimes no other person wants to pick up the mantle

Exactly. It's strange how most times healthy people can be lazy. There are things that wouldn't take them any effort yet they'll not do it, because of a simple act of laziness. It's really surprising and infuriating

This kind of nature starts from home environment by experiencing the same. Such peoples are very particular about what ti do and how to do. My daughter suffered a lot while in hostel. They were 7 of them and just 2 of them took care of purchasing and cleaning. Its difficult to make these peoples understand. Good one 👍

@takhar ·
I think it's very very depressing and what's also irritating to me is that sometimes they're not ashamed of admitting it or use is an an excuse to continue their laziness behaviour whenever you confront them about it. It's only when they experience first hand the severe consequences of their lack of action that they begin to change, which sometimes may already be too late.

Responsibility is something you should learn young. Many learn it but as they get older just get plain lazy... It shouldn't just be you checking the water system, but you're the only one responsible enough to do it. I've lived for more than a week without running water after hurricanes, it's not fun. The owner should be paying that electric bill early if he has people paying him rent...

I don't get people sometimes...

Did you get the problem rectified yet?

I think the people here don't just care. They live recklessly and don't care about the little things. They just want to live the way they want without have to be responsible for anything. I've lived with a lot of people in the past and 90% of them are like this.

Unfortunately we still don't have water, as electricity has gone out, and the owner of the house is not available at the moment.
