One of the tools that create **Opportunities** for wealth is **Chaos,** while this might be a negative way of making money, most African states depend on chaos to either forestall change or create chaos that is beneficial to a small group of people, to the detriment of some others.

 In this video, I talked about how wealthy people in Nigeria are made from opportunism, monopoly, scarcity, and the deprivation of others at the expense of their well-being. This is why we have a huge gulf in class between wealthy people and poor people.

The system is designed to financially better those who are in power, they take advantage of the lack of regulation in the Nigerian system to create scarcity while using this scarcity to make untold wealth for themselves. Furthermore, I discussed how corruption has eaten deep into the grassroots of the system, making it difficult to forestall change.

Nigeria is one country where change will be difficult to enact because most people who are creating artificial chaos to make money already feel that they're deserved of this money. After all, the government is bad and they're simply creating ways to make money and survive.

Some of the wealthiest people in Nigeria are made through monopoly and the suffering of people, rather than their innovations, and this is because there are no existing laws made from stopping the rich from taking advantage of the poor. I talked about the deepest sectors of corruption in Nigeria and why this keeps becoming worse by the day.

I’ve never understood how an oil-producing country suffers inflation in oil market as a result of the scarcity of oil(the very resource they produce) . But like you said, I guess the fact that in Nigeria’s case, the oil is not just used for transport but for electricity as well, the high demand is a bit understandable.

I read some posts from Nkem and a few others ago about the craze about the new currency. Funshee mentioned in her post how her family would’ve almost gone to bed on an empty stomach if it weren’t for the relationship she had built with the employees of the supermarket she shops at. It’s surprising how market women can just up and refuse to take old currency anymore.

Over here, no when there’s a new currency issued, the old one continues to he accepted until a timeframe where it’ll almost be impossible to find it with anyone. I was really sad when I heard about the currency situation and the suffering it caused some people.

You couldn’t have said it better about the issue of regulation. The problem with corruption in our African system of governance is that everyone at the top is corrupt. Even the bodies that are supposed to check corruption are corrupt. And so as a result, every body of the government has no regulation or any form of check and balance whatsoever.

The inflation in the oil market is as a result of the lack of regulation. There are no regulatory bodies to check the actions of marketers and oil suppliers. It is possible for a person to make over 500 million Naira in profit as a result of hike in price created by artificial scarcity. There are personnels in governments that are also involved in the scam. So the corruption runs deep. If you check the Nigerian banking sector it is filled with some of the most corrupt individuals. Some of these people (bankers) are in liaison with politicians in order to perpetrate financial crimes.
The scarcity created by these people is being done so that some persons can take advantage and make more money, it's about making more money at the expense of the comfort and Civic rights of some other people.
The common people are the recipients of these crimes.

I can understand how some people in Government will try to cause scarcity for their own benefit. It sounds a bit like what some people thought the case of Luna was. That the crash was at some point masterminded by SBF and the LUNA group to take advantage of the already happening drama. In this case, the common people are the investors who put their faith and money in the hands of SBF and Team.

I cannot agree less with you. We are in a system where the rich gets richer and the poor gets more impoverished.
The system also aims to maintain the unfortunate gulf in class by frustrating anything that would make a crossover possible. Here, the rich do not want to crossover to being poor and yes, the poor wants to cross over to the rich.
Nigeria is particularly interesting based on diversity of powerful and rich gladiators while the masses keep worshipping the same set of leaders in persons or form that lead the nation.
What I believe we need is a radical leader with a team focused on revitalization of the sectors.
Also, I think we must realize change and progress is gradual hence, we must be patient with the system.
The Government should also hold into focus some vital sectors (I will be bias in power sector for example) and succeed in, though not neglecting others

The systems we have in Nigeria needs to change from the grassroot-level. How about the people at the grassroots do not want to begin the change because they believe the change has to start from the top. Since government is not accountable in fact so many systems we have in Africa are not accountable in general, it makes it very concerning to understand that before Africa can experience a massive change there has to be an overhaul in ideology.
I think the first thing to do is to actually be self aware. the populace has to be less greedy in order to be more concerned about the bigger thing. What I'm trying to say is that governments and the people needs to forestall change simultaneously. In systems like Nigeria voting for the right people is actually the beginning.

Thank you for coming through.

This your last statement is right, removing sentiments and nepotism.
My fear however is that the damage is far done already and it will be a herculean task to bring about a value reorientation to Nigerians and perhaps why I suggested the need for a radical leader who would instill a sense of responsibility and lawfulness to the people.
God help us as we help the system rightly.
It is nice discussing with you and I love your topic

Big changes can be made at an individual level very easily by everyone. The saying, Live the change that you want has always resonated with me. I hope that more people will follow it.

@practicaleric ·
You have just described a totally rotten system thriving on corruption. All Nigeria and Africa needs are strong regulations and upright leaders. Most of the leaders in Africa are greedy and are puppets of the west, have you seen Shell and Exxon making record profits. Meanwhile Nigeria where some of the oil comes from is reporting of shortages and high prices. Totally absurd and unacceptable. Things will change but it will take time.
Thank you for sharing and enjoy Friday ahead :}
