Hive and HBD are the two flagship coins that backs the hive Blockchain and hence are very integral. The reason is because of the prospect of value and investment returns that comes with owning them.

 In this video, I decided to talk about how users of the chain can take advantage of the numerous beneficial opportunities. With Hive I talked about its governance ability and how it's a curation-based stake that runs or rewards the social aspect of hive and incentivizes all the parties involved. 

From the stake owner or the delegatee as well as the end-recipient who benefits from being curated. I created an awareness towards curation APR and how the numbers can vary and how to get the right numbers and so many more aspects that surround hive.


 I mentioned the stability of HBD and how its functionalities are hardly rivaled by anything. I mentioned its dependence over traditional systems, which is the main highlight of this video.

Good stuff, just discovered you and excited to dig into your content. 

Love the coverage of HBD because I think a decentralized stablecoin will be super important to develop and after the collapse of UST and Terra Luna I've been trying to find other options and there just aren't many. Hive and HBD are still relatively small all things considered, but I like the community around Hive and it has a solid history of growth through multiple bear and bull markets. 

Do you see the growth of HBD to be sustainable long term? One of the biggest use cases for UST was the 20% return people received but we haven't seen that kind of influx on Hive.

Hive and HBD is solid, it's still small but not as small. Hive has some of the most functional dapps and projects built on it. Splinterlands and Leofinance for example. So, it's definitely one of the most solid projects in the crypto space and investment wise too. 

As for HBD, I think the APY will be reduce from time to time to maintain sustainability, I think 15 to 12% might be the next reduction.

The 20% interest on HBD is very attractive but my only concern is that it might be a bit difficult to sustain long term. At 20%, it would double approximately every 4 years if compounded.

It can be reduced, to 10%, also 11 or 12% as well, the witnesses have said they can reduce it as well and as much as it's sustainable, so this is something Positive as well when it comes to the sustainability.

I’m going to sound stupid for asking this, but I keep wondering whether the 20% savings applies Hive savings itself or it’s only limited to HBD. 

One thing I find difficult is the time to accumulate more of what. More Hive now or HBD? When? I’ve come to the conclusion that the bear is the perfect time to prioritize accumulating more Hive, and the Bull to convert the Hive that was accumulated in the bear into HBD. Not totally neglecting either of the two tokens at any market cycle though. Just a matter of priority.

It's only limited to having HBD in savings. In reality, everyone faces the dilemma you face, but after careful scrutiny I think there's no need to prioritize one over the other. I think HBD helps one against volatility. Plus, business people can just explore HBD and use it to make cool profit. With hive, when you get your timing right, you can just convert back your HBD to hive and take advantage of the bull market

It is indeed mind-blowing what HBD and Hive have to offer Jose! The options for 20% interest in HBD and incrementally adding 3% to HP while also getting rewards from voting and posting got me to appreciate Hive platform even more. I have been following the highest interest rate offered by all our banks here for fixed-income investment to see how it is responding to repo rate hikes which increased our prime lending rate from 7 to 11.75%. The highest interest rate that is being offered by a competitive bank is 12% for a minimum of 2562 USD deposit fixed for 5 years. 

For anyone with an amount less than that who would want the flexibility to deposit throughout 5yrs then they will have to settle for a 3-9% in proportion to their deposited amount. So if we do the math, logically Hive blockchain still offers more returns during the bear market when compared to traditional banking which is meant to offer higher returns now as there is an increase in interest rates across the market. So taking advantage of HBD and Hive compounding abilities can help one achieve great returns and their investment goal.

That's really limiting. The fact that you even have to lock it for five years is worrying. The opportunity that comes with hive alone is amazing. Having that 3% inflation added to your stake is unbelievable. HBD APR might be reduced to 15% or 14% later to increase sustainability but it's still better than whatever any bank will actually offer.

I have tested what the traditional banks have to offer and it's still not comparable to anything hive has to offer. It's mainly just pure exploitation. By the time we begin to see the resurgence of the bull market from mid-next year, you'll see more.

Oh, so it means one can take advantage of the 20% now. True 14-15% will still be better since it will be a fixed interest rate unlike for banks which is variable.

I'm personally focusing on building HP and diversifying it by delegating to other active projects or community I'm involved with... Still behind in HBD savings need to build up that one... 20% Apr is way to juicy..  started loving the sustainable price of HBD haven't seen it losing peg now... 

Stays at $1 rate and hive price also seems much stable been trading in this range.. looks like HoDLers know things being built on this ecosystem deserves way much more and we're yet early.

Yes, if you have a big HP in your account and you are not very active on the hive, you can delegate it to projects like Leofinance, ocdb to do the curation for you and in return you get the reward back in the form of hbd/hive. It really an amazing platform.

Hive is amazing and I like both Hive/HBD. I trust Hive as a platform and I personally prefer to keep the HP in my vote up. I want to make sure that my 5% vote can pass that dust threshold because anything dusted gets thrown out. So that is why I haven't even bothered to try delegating out HP. However if I were inactive, I probably would.

You also talked about the HBD 20% Apr interest . This is nice but do you think it's better to divert our savings culture into hbd savings or rather save in hive for a long time and enjoy the interest when the market is high.

Every choice comes with it's advantage. There's always an added advantage to everything. As for HBD. It helps you in the bear market against volatility. So selling hive in the bull market to but HBD is a really wise choice and buying back hive again in the bear market. So it depends on your choice and specifications as well.

Having both coins is something unique that I love about the Hive Blockchain. Each has a myriad of use cases and one can also compliment the other. For me, my focus is building HP first to a considerable amount and start delegating some to good curation projects.
