**In almost all my publications I've always lauded the role of public relations in boosting the chances of a business at the infant Stage** this is because everyday more and more business are on the rise and the ones that can adequately appeal to a prospective consumer or publics is the one that they'll choose to buy. **In essentiality a consumer's behavior or motive is always changing or becoming advanced or taking a strange twist day by day** *and it's the responsibility of firms to utilize public relations to understand these motives, conditions or behaviors in other to serve much more better.* Advertising in the recent times has however dampened the utility and longevity as well as Consumer's sovereignty that public relations brings and that's why I feel that no brand should have a large customer base do much that Consumer's sovereignty is no longer considered as a viable concept.

In Nigeria for example there are some brands like *MTN* (network service provider) that hardly involves anymore in public relations simply because they're grown and their client base is enormous and *this is simply bad for the fact that consumers are the main reason for production in the first place* societal marketing is a marketing mix that I find to be in semblance with a promotional mix such as public relations and why is this? *This is because they both pride on making impact of the public* and that is why I find it essential that public relations should not just be at the initiate Stage of a business but through a business because profit making is the reason why firms or businesses no longer make use of sales promotion or personal selling as effective as before is **because  they no longer find the need since business's first reason for inception is profiteering**

Marketing has of course been easier these days because of the internet, however somehow I still think the internet hasn't gotten that aspect of target audience well and that's why Sometimes you see a promotional tweet on twitter or something similar on Instagram having a lot of views and like but is it hitting the right audience? And that takes us back again to public relations to start again with the basics, **with the help of studying things like market segmentation and consumer behavior it's even been made more simplifiable to really reach people based on the direct specifications of their need.** And this for me would have been really doing business with the hope of better servicing rather than hitting the target of profit making alone which won't guarantee longevity. **Consumers will always remain, but will a brand?**


In earnest I feel public relations have a place from the infancy stage of a business to saturation or to decline stage and even when some brands now feel indestructible by the force of competition out they at one time or the other they do systematic advertising just to remind people that they hope to service them better *and this of course is a proof that consumers is still the sole reason why there should be production in the first place* it's rather precautionary by all means. **However to me person selling sometimes tend to be more effective than advertising and why is this?** personal selling is like a direct one on one advertising it's allows people to allay their concerns as well as question their misunderstanding about a product or brand rather than the media Which is only pre-recorded and have no means of getting instant feedback to the advertisers and that's why a growing feedback uses more promotional mix and public relations more because it's a measure to
