**We can hear their adenoidal callings
filtering through us
 like the sun light through the forest.
disembodied and screaming loudly.
 like a prophet of woe.
Screeching into our ear drums;
with decabytes of warnings like the master's whistles
but were drowned in our unwillingness to head,
like birds hovering without resting places**

**They're the terrestrial warlords;
hibernating in caves;
embalmed, felt freely clattering like the waves.
they're the protectors of the lost sheep
wondering deep into the lion's keep.
their guttural voices are like lamps.
that ignites through dreary path,
Misty jungle, with vulture squeals and shrieking crows
but the trumpet of civilization hast taken us away,
far into the emblems of civilization**

**We're but bovine with omnivores cannine;
We've stuttered into the enemy's lair.
like worms in the snakes path,
they're sounding guttural tones like dynamites,
shrieking us home, to our root,
back to the cradle back to the coot,
but we're on broken grounds,
lost in deserts with empty oasis
without a name to call,**

**They spoke of impending doom.
They spoke with neglects of the ancestral bones.
they protected our homes.
but we lacerated their altars.
and in our diligent ways, we faltered.
now the solemn air has lost the spirits 
it's cold and dark and the ancestral ones are gone, 
never again to be seen.**

### POETIC NOTES & ANALYSIS


<hr>


Sometimes a call rings so imminently, but it's often neglected. The poem highlights man's unwillingness to heed the call of the higher deities of which they've been running away from as a result of too much commitments and unnecessary issues.
The poem points out the fact that mankind always tend to neglect a way to salvation because sometimes it's to crude or too inconvenient.



It sets in early Africa, away from westernized modernization. And the poet tells a story of a people who left their Africanism in search of greener pasture in the western world, and ended up not remembering the essence of their root, infact forgot their cultural pratices and customs and instead embrace the tradition and believes of the foreign man.
The poem is a call for all and sundry to come home and heed the call of their ancestors.
