Free or paid, knowledge is valuable. It adds to our worth and increases the opportunities. Sometimes,  it happens that we acquire the particular knowledge so late that if we had it earlier we would have saved a lot (it may be time, money or  efforts)

The case of fisherman that you mentioned is a nice demonstration of what the lack of knowledge may cost us. 
Sometimes we don't give importance to things and the consequences are to be faced by generations. Decades ago, my grandfather overlook the opportunities that his another relative availed. The difference today is that the man's children are millionaire while my grandfather's children have struggled throughout their lives to make a reasonable income

I think I heard a similar story somewhere in 2021 where a fisherman caught a blue marlin fish which was worth $2.6million and ate the fish with his village. I can’t imagine how stupid and cursed they must’ve felt when they realized how much that catch could’ve changed their lives if they were just informed enough. That they did themselves and their entire bloodline a great injustice the minute they got the brilliant idea to put the fish on fire.

Knowledge is power, the main reason why some men are great and standout today is because they seek knowledge and this set them apart from the rest.

This simple line alone cast us **THE VALUE OF KNOWLEDGE IN ITSELF**....

This is exactly were the problem in our society lies, cause as far as I know *learning never ends* and so when one thinks he as arrived and so know it all is the funniest thing people do this days.  cause I say so because times evolve and so old things ways and pattern are all gone, there is a need to constantly seek knowledge and go after it.

I agree with your philosophical point of view, knowledge gives value. If the fisherman had knowledge about what he was about to eat to settle his hunger I think he would have gone for what could change his life first instead of hunger.  I think we have come to a point where y knowledge is rampant all one needs to do is choose a field and research on it, become relevant in that field and also explore..

I think there is a cost for everything and knowledge/experience is definitely worth something. An expert that works on fixing motherboards will easily be able to figure things out on a board but it might take you days. Any knowledge is good but sometimes I wonder if the free stuff will dwindle over time. I see the economy moving more and more toward a subscription model.

This is what lack of knowledge can do to a person. We would always be in the dark if we do not seek for knowledge because what we do not know will always be above us. I really pity the man because he could have made millions of dollars which could have changed his life. 

Every human being is a seeker of knowledge and we shouldn't stop. We see value in something we were informed about and not what we do not know. This is why we shouldn't stay in our cocoon but to explore in finding knowledge that will change our lives for the better. Knowledge begets opportunities which can turn things around for us.

The truth we need to keep impacting knowledge to ourselves so that we get updated on what is going on. What we know now might not be useful to us in the next 5 years. So if we don't keep learning, we lose out on what could be of impact to us.

Knowledge they say, is power, in what ever we do, we must ensured we impact ourselves because the more you build up yourself the more you are able to present yourself out there. And they say, it's what you have upstairs you can share to people around..

What you are doing is correct, just like people buying lotteries/items that they don't know will get what they want or what they get, at least they have tried and tried to It pleases his own heart to play like that.
Likewise in terms of giving knowledge for free to other people, even though it looks free and sometimes we don't get anything from it, at least you have done good and you are there Judgment from God and the recipient of the knowledge, I'm sure, even though we give for free what we have in any form, we will get results from what we do in Another place
The point is that nothing in this world is wasted if we live it correctly and sincerely because God knows what he thinks is good and will provide us with sustenance elsewhere.

Given that knowledge is inexhaustible, it makes sense to prioritized the kind of knowledge you seek based on the value in can bring to your life in your present circumstances or in near future.
