Someone (A friend) sent me a link on WhatsApp saying he's enrolling in a program for affiliate marketing and that I should pay about $100 for him to teach me everything affiliate marketing. Firstly I laughed within me, this guys is a newbie to the internet not to talk of understanding the various gimmicks online promising to teach people how to make money. I asked him to send me a link and be sent me the link of a beautifully written article.

 I mean I had to applaud the person who wrote the article, the person is a seasoned writer, I mean he's obviously a pro in most things' crypto. His level of knowledge on how crypto works was astonishing. The person talked in the article of how people are naive about crypto and hence they tend to buy amiss. The article systematically educated the prospective newbie about the wealth and *ROI* aspects of crypto leaving them craving to invest, then he drops a link to an e-book of $100 promising to include affiliate marketing, the best crypto to buy and how people can quickly make a lot of money.

#### The Internet's Ambiguity; A Tendency To Scam?

This would resonate with the regular Nigeria person. While I didn't really have my red flag alert about the link to buy the e-book, I personally felt that paying $100 for a piece of information you could yourself if you invested your time isn't totally worth it. One thing about the article was that, its generally appeals to a specific audience and while the intent is totally not scammy, it's probably a legit way to cheat people who are hungry to get life-changing information that could provide extra opportunities for them.


 Google on the surface does not provide define answers, and I'm not saying it should, the system is meant to provide you with diverse answers to whatever you seek, spoiling you with choices in the process. One thing is, Google itself doesn't filter the information it has especially to raise red flags on attempts to mislead people. The more it can supply this information the more money goes into the system.

#### The Brilliant Ponzi Marketing Model

Most Ponzi Scheme in Nigeria thrived through the use of well written SEO contents. Immediately you input the key word  *"how to make money online"*  these websites pops up. Back then, people fall for the *clickbait* they begin to read through the most compelling money stories ever and hence they buy into these schemes and in other to create more money in the cyclical scheme of  *"robbing Peter to pay Paul"*,  they begin to invite their family and friends. 


Inasmuch as these schemes are no longer thriving, the organizers of the schemes mad *dumb money* off people. A lot of people have come to see through the ruse of most money-making opportunities presented when they search through Google, the selling concept now is *"how to double your crypto" *and *"how to make millions through affiliate marketing"* so people even go as far as writing about how to make mad millions off forex trading and that was how an aunt of mine invested over $300 in forex without any basic knowledge and lost all the money.

**Knowledge and information is wealth**

.......Howbeit, the right type of knowledge is what many are lacking. These people understood their audience. They know that their fellow Nigerians are looking to make money online and sometimes the information on the internet is the wrong one. This is simply to say not many likes reading. It's Why  *terms and conditions*   are ignored a lot. Now affiliate marketing entails a lot, including the marketing skills of an individual, how about their social media presence, the ability to command an interactive audience, while having enough contents to actively keep them participative?


 It's not necessary that it must be online, but how about commanding the interactive offline skills to actually convince people as an affiliate to patronize your clientele? A lot of people aren't equipped to be affiliate marketers but since it involves making money, they forget these Important details and rather chose to buy expensive e-books.

#### Cashing In On ignorance

This is why leofinance and hive, the blockchain is currently undervalued. The myriad of information presented here by (people) community members who have done their research is what people out there pays money for. In the past, I might be inclined to buy these e-books advertised by this guy, seeing all the tempting promises in the article. Some negative opinion held by some about crypto is because of their terrible first time experience.

 This is to tell you how many scams and outlets are willing to cash in on newbies and absolutely misinform them. I've seen newbies who even mistake crypto for affiliate marketing, and it just shows how many people are keyed in on Google for information and are being mislead by information that aren't vetted. This is another reason why I appreciate this blockchain and how leofinance is optimized to totally educate people. I would have been scammed by this venture
