Tiktok is one of the weirdest social apps. It's where you see peak nudity, toxicity, human degradation, lack of empathy and discrimination. 


> More than anywhere? 


For example, there is a group of users who have become very popular and relevant as a result of toxic creativity: they see someone who has been in an accident and lost one leg, and they will say things like *"I am standing on your mandate."*

 On the surface, this appears to be a harmless statement, but it is actually a dark humor that is meant to mock the physical disability of the person on whose post they are commenting. 

People who understand the "dark humor" joke are now praising the poster for his creativity. In fact, they take screenshots of these comments and use them to entertain themselves on their various Reddit and Facebook pages. 

Instead of receiving rebukes for their "dark humor" posts, these posters go on to gain more active followers, then monetize their accounts, and then begin to hunt for people online to mock in order to satisfy their ever-growing audience.

## The hunger for morbidity 

In the past, I've heard of muk-bang creators who eat wild things to entertain their followers. They eat live cockroaches, spoilt food, and engage in dangerous eating habits in order to gain more followers and potentially monetize their content. 

> Now this is not even my problem.

 If people choose self-harm to entertain others, that is their personal choice; however, it is extremely sad when people create an entire niche based on discriminating and abusing others in order to profit from monetization.


I have seen numerous posts like this where people try to gain relevance and potential followers simply by being toxic. Recently there was this little man who got married and also had a little child.

 For months, these two couples faced a lot of social toxicity from people who wanted to use their stories to advance themselves on Facebook. They constantly mocked the couple, and now that they have seen how popular they have become, they are still mocking them for having a child.




I understand that these things happen outside of social media as well. People are used to mocking others because of their disabilities.

 Recently, there was a Twitter trend in which people mocked a woman with Down syndrome. The things that people had to say were so disgusting and painful, and this is probably one of the problems with having a condition; it is not the condition itself, but the psychological abuse you may face from people who are "allegedly normal."



So, I believe that people take advantage of the fact that they are not physically present online. 

They can easily hurl hatred and mockery at another person, and because they are partially anonymous, they may not be using their true identity or pictures, and then they go on to create a morbid image. They call themselves the "King of Dark Humor" and other such titles.



However, it is unfortunate that people would choose toxicity as a niche or side hustle to make money for themselves. It is one of the most heinous things ever. You see accounts gaining massive traction simply because they know a creative word that can be used to mock someone online. The irony is that they have an audience that is constantly hungry for more, for even deeper darkness, and people eventually lose any natural sympathy that they may have had at the outset.




Content creation stems from the need to gain relevance. When people seek relevance, they tend to choose or stick to what immediately generates millions of views, and most of the time they ignore their sense of morality. 

I know a content creator who started making videos with women with big back sides, and because he received a lot of views, this became his sole focus. Seeking women from all over to feed his morbid audience with this type of content.



> The rising number of dark humor creators is particularly concerning to me. 

People in an empathetic human society would either block or completely ignore such creators, but the fact that they persist and even increase in relevance demonstrates that empathy is dwindling in human society. It all stems from life's unfairness, the fact that some people are privileged while others are disadvantaged. 

There are little things that matters in life that aren't really as little. It is difficult for everyone to have the same perspective on life because of their individual experiences. People die every day because they can not take heartbreak, mockery, pressure, or pain.

 Now these sad emotions are caused by their fellow humans. The other day a kid killed himself because it was alleged that he caught his girlfriend sleeping with someone else. There are different unfairness to life everyday and half or even more of it is caused by their fellow humans. 

A person on their way to work is hit by a drunk driver, becomes permanently disabled, and others continue to mock them for being disabled when it was not even their fault to begin with. Many of these events occur on a daily basis, and how people react to them can be very sad.
