Enfermos de velocidad y ansiedad
quizás otra forma de nombrar la violencia,
andamos sobre frías avenidas,
corremos tras quebradizos deseos,
con pulsaciones atropelladas
en las venas de nuestro cuerpo 
casi sin alma, o en apuesta contra ella.

La lentitud y la demora nos abruman.
La contemplación y el pensar
nos parecen una pérdida de tiempo.
La placidez de un café mañanero, 
el silencio crepuscular de una tarde,
la quietud de una noche en un libro, 
es una vivencia de la nada.

¿Seguiremos la “ardiente paciencia”
del poeta de la temporada en el infierno?

Sick of speed and anxiety
perhaps another way of naming violence,
we walk on cold avenues,
we run after brittle desires,
with pulses pounding in the veins of our bodies
in the veins of our body 
almost without a soul, or betting against it.

Slowness and delay overwhelm us.
Contemplation and thinking
seem to us a waste of time.
The placidity of a morning coffee, 
the twilight silence of an evening,
the stillness of a night in a book, 
is an experience of nothingness.

Shall we follow the "ardent patience"
of the poet of the season in hell?
