There should be a need to repeat those you were not able to keep during last year before adding other new ones.** **Having many resolutions is not healthy. You may end up not keeping any of them. Make it simple and be faithful to it**. --- We are at the time of the year when everyone wants to start at a good pace. We make resolutions, set goals, and make some decisions we deem best for us in the new year. During this period, most of the sermons we will hear at the church and other gatherings will center on new year resolutions. The month of January is usually a busy one for most people because they want to start the year well. There is nothing wrong with this act. The problem comes when we set goals or make resolutions that are not easily achievable or too cumbersome. Yeah, we want to start the year with high energy, but of what use is having tons of resolutions only to struggle with them every day?. Our goals might be so demanding that we have to make a lot of sacrifices to achieve them, but if we can be able to take the goals one after the other, the weight of the goals will be negligible. Also, before making any resolution, it is very important, we meditate on the resolution we made in the previous year, assess how we were judicious with them. Outline the areas where we didn't do well and what might have caused the failure. This helps us to have a better strategy in the new year. Sometimes people make new resolutions every year when they were not able to stand by the previous year's resolution. Such practice is unhealthy and may not yield fruits. Thirdly, you need to be yourself. Mr. A's resolution should remain his, and not be copied by Mr. B. Every individual has different strengths and weaknesses. This is what we should consider when making resolutions. Finally, there is a need for us to understand that it won't be an easy journey for us. It is easy to make resolutions but very difficult to stand by them. The resolutions are most times against the desires of the body; thus we shouldn't expect an easy commitment to them. We may fall on the way but we shouldn't be discouraged. What makes us strong is not our inability to fall or make a mistake, but the ability to rise whenever we make mistakes. We might struggle for a particular resolution for more than half a year, but we shouldn't give up. Usually, when we are sick, we go to the hospital for a laboratory examination. When the cause of the sickness is known, then treatment commences. This is what happens in our life. When we know what causes the failure in upholding the resolutions, we can then be able to work against conquering them. Finally, I want to wish all my readers and members of the @ecotrain community a prosperous new year. I look forward to meeting many people from this community this year. May the Lord be with us as we hope in him.

> Thirdly, you need to be yourself. That's exactly it @joseph23... Take some of your own advice and just be you. Not just theoretically. There is a lot of cliché mumbo jumbo in here that blocks what you are really trying to say. Just say it and give very clear examples. Imagine you had to read this. Would you want to read it? What do you think about it? It is totally your blog so you can write about anything you want, but I think it would be more effective to choose one clear example either about you or something you experienced. You don't need to impress anybody. Just speak in the words that you normally would use so I can feel what you are going through.
