### The Crypto Crash

*This is what my last 3 weeks has looked like!*

Bitcoin and crypto continues to defy the prognosticators!  For whatever reason the market does the exact opposite of the general consensus.  I for one love it. These kind of drops always offer opportunity.  For Bitcoin it's an aggressive buying opportunity.  For my Bitcoin 'treasury', I use Bitcoin for my unit of account.  For everything else I use dollars.  In doing this I work to acquire Bitcoin at any price to drive my total balance towards my long term target.  If the price doubles, I may buy half as much, if the price halves like recently, I buy twice as much.  The difficult part for me is deciding what I should sell to both pay expenses and buy more Bitcoin.  I also get more aggressive about selling off various block rewards and whatever else I can scrape up.  It's Bitcoin or Bust for now.  Once I hit the level I'm after I intend to hit Real Estate a lot harder.  I'm still tinkering with raw land, but that effort has slowed to a crawl for now.

### Bitcoin Meetup

I went to a another local meetup on Sunday.  As always it's great to talk to like-minded people.  The subject of the day was talking to potential investors about Bitcoin during these pullbacks.  Much of the discussion centered around discussing historic prices and price action.  I'm of the opinion that the discussion of that facet should be something very short, such as:

>Bitcoin can be a very volatile asset in the short term, price swings of 50% or more are a normal occurrence. </END OF DISCUSSION OF PRICE>

Now let's talk about the aspects of Bitcoin that should make you want to buy it at any price.  For example:

>How about memorizing 24 words and crossing through hostile territory with absolutely nothing on you?  How about restoring your wallet after getting to a safe location and having access to your wealth?  How many previously wealthy migrants and refugees arrive in their new home absolutely penniless?  

It's called self-sovereignty! This is the most powerful aspect of Bitcoin in my opinion.  It tends to be lost on people living their comfortable lives in the western world.  Well, things can and do change.  If you ever found yourself persecuted and forced to flee to a different locale, do you think your stack of cash and gold coins will survive the trip?  Do you honestly think you'd still have access to the banking system of your former country?  Think again!

If you aren't stacking now then you're missing a golden (or orange) opportunity to get more sats! Sounds like we're in a similar mindset about Bitcoin and real estate - give it another 5 years and housing will be cheaper for Bitcoiners!

I think that's the role the US Central Bank is trying to make the US Dollar have by pushing for their CBDC and trying to "maintain the US Dollar as the global legal tender".

It makes sense now. I read about that a bit yesterday. They believe that Crypto will most probably kick out the dollar and that's completely true. I initially thought their problem was only with stable coins but apparently not.
