### Joining Zion   So I joined Zion, partly because I like JP Sears and partly because it's social built on the Lightning Network. I'm still trying to figure it out. It seems to be very telegram-like with integrated Bitcoin/lightning tipping. The jury is still out for me. They lowered the price to $12/month, so I'll give it a few months and perhaps later do a more detailed post.  ### FLUX Nodes  I finally got my 2nd FLUX node up and running, and both are back to spitting out rewards. I'm not 100% clear what fixed it besides me reinstalling, running various fixes I found, and rebooting Linux a couple times. Oh well, fixed is fixed.  ### Crypto Taxes  I got pretty excited when I saw @edicted 's [latest post](https://peakd.com/hive-167922/@edicted/legal-precedent-irs-will-not-tax-unsold-tokens) regarding the IRS and taxes on airdrops and staking. I think the 'jury' is still out whether this will lower my tax bill this year, but I immediately sent the articles to my CPA. Not paying taxes on airdrops and staking would definitely save me taxes into the 5 digits. This gives me some hope in any case. Taxing upon award doesn't incentivize the little guy to grow and compete with the whales over the long term.  ### Working In Blockchain So I interviewed for a position with a blockchain-focused company today, doing my traditional work as a network engineer. I think the only way to really reinvigorate my IT career is to do it in an industry I really care about. Most positions are software development focused, so it's really cool that this industry is going mainstream enough that these organizations are needing to design and maintain internetworking infrastructure. It's becoming more and more of a question of working in the industry because I want to participate, not because I'm desperate for a paycheck. If this ecosystem and my small piece of it continues to grow, I'll eventually want to form my own blockchain-focused company-- doing what I can only imagine. I just know that there isn't much life left for me in designing and configuring networks. Software and automation are rapidly eating my job anyways.
