Right, it was unplayable back when I first signed up on ETH L1.  They moved it over to Immutable-X (L2) and it is significantly faster.  It takes about 30 seconds to initiate a game, and about the same amount of time per turn.  The play is turn-by-turn, and you are choosing 1-2 cards every turn randomly out of a deck of 30.  It's time consuming.  A single game can take 15-20 minutes.  I would consider it more cerebral than Splinterlands.  That being said, I'm not really sure at this point what I'm accomplishing by playing.  The feedback mechanism for the play-to-earn aspect isn't as instant or intuitive.  I like it so far, but is it worth my time over the long run?  I can feel productive playing Splinterlands, I don't need a time suck.
