Hola chicos ¿Qué tal? Espero que todo esté bien.

Me considero una persona bastante tranquila, no soy del tipo que se queja, al contrario trato de ser siempre un hombre agradecido y ver que en todo hay un propósito o un por qué de las cosas. Está vez no es la excepción, no vengo a quejarme, pero les quiero contar una realidad de la ciudad donde vivo.

Ya mi familia y yo tenemos casi 6 años viviendo en esta ciudad llamada Portoviejo, aquí en Ecuador y desde que estamos aquí siempre hemos escuchado que en invierno hay quienes tienen problemas con el agua potable, pero a nosotros nunca nos había afectado, sin embargo este final de invierno ha sido un poco diferente.

Ya tenemos más de una semana sin agua y las noticias no son las mejores, dicen que no habrá por más días, todo esto debido a una falla eléctrica en un transformador de la planta principal de Agua Potable en la ciudad. En la casa donde vivimos tenemos cisterna, así que no hemos tenido problemas con el agua, más que ahorrarla lo más posible, pero ya se nos está acabando.

This time is no exception, I am not here to complain, but I want to tell you a reality of the city where I live.

>My family and I have almost 6 years living in this city called Portoviejo, here in Ecuador and since we are here we have always heard that in winter there are those who have problems with drinking water, but we had never been affected, however this end of winter has been a little different.

>We already have more than a week without water and the news are not the best, they say that there will not be for more days, all this due to an electrical failure in a transformer of the main plant of Agua Potable in the city. In the house where we live we have a cistern, so we haven't had any problems with the water, other than saving it as much as possible, but we are already running out.

El día miércoles de esta semana mi esposa y yo estamos asomados al balcón de donde vivimos y veíamos a los vecinos correr de un lado a otro y colocar tobos vacíos frente a las aceras de sus casa para llenarlos con agua, ya que el municipio está subsidiando algunos sectores con tanqueros o camiones de agua. Y nosotros éramos los únicos de la cuadra que no teníamos ese afán, en ese momento no me sentí especial, me sentí agradecido.

Pienso mucho en mis hijos, en mi esposa que son quienes se quedan en casa, hace un calor terrible y ellos deben ahorrar agua, sin poder bañarse tanto para refrescarse de las altas temperaturas. También pienso en que ellos son niños que no saben todo lo que sucede y mi esposa debe cocinar para ellos, así que doy gracias que por lo menos tenemos un poco de agua aún.

>On Wednesday of this week my wife and I were looking out from the balcony where we live and we saw the neighbors running from one side to the other and placing empty buckets in front of the sidewalks of their houses to fill them with water, since the municipality is subsidizing some sectors with tankers or water trucks. And we were the only ones on the block who did not have that eagerness, at that moment I did not feel special, I felt grateful.

>I think a lot about my children, my wife, who are the ones who stay at home, it is terribly hot and they have to save water, not being able to bathe so much to cool off from the high temperatures. I also think that they are children who don't know everything that is going on and my wife has to cook for them, so I am thankful that at least we still have some water.

El camión del agua llegó ese día y era impresionante como la gente hasta discutía por un poco de agua. Si hubiera tenido donde agarrar también lo hubiéramos hecho, sin embargo nuestro tobo está lleno con agua y tapado como una reserva, ya que no sabemos hasta cuando dure todo esto. Pienso en las demás personas y los niños de otras familias, no es nada bueno estar sin agua.

>The water truck arrived that day and it was impressive how people were even arguing for some water. If I had had somewhere to grab it we would have done it too, however our water truck is filled with water and covered as a reserve, as we don't know how long this will last. I think of the other people and the children of other families, it is not good to be without water.

En mi trabajo a tocado también ahorrar agua, me contaba mi esposa que han suspendido las clases en las instituciones públicas en toda la ciudad por falta del agua potable y los maestros se preparan para dar clases virtuales está semana que viene en caso de que no se resuelva aún la situación y esto es aún más preocupante ya que nos hace creer que falta mucho.

El agua es un líquido muy necesario y bueno muchachos hay que cuidarla. En casa el que más se ha visto afectado es mi hijo menor, ya que a él le gusta bañarse mucho y ahora los baños son rápidos y muy pocos, pero allí vamos, siendo agradecidos y sin perder la fe.

>My wife told me that classes have been suspended in public institutions throughout the city due to the lack of drinking water and teachers are preparing to give virtual classes next week in case the situation is not resolved and this is even more worrisome because it makes us believe that there is still a long way to go.

>Water is a very necessary liquid and well guys we have to take care of it. At home the one who has been most affected is my youngest son, since he likes to bathe a lot and now the baths are fast and very few, but there we go, being grateful and without losing faith.
