Why not just make a really awesome interface that everyone WANTS to use. I mean i'm all for gamification but something about this just seems desperate ... but... what are the usages of the Points?

I suppose you are commenting about post, not sure what you mean by desperate, maybe you commenting on top comment?! Usage of points as mentioned in release notes and earlier posts, will be added in next release. We have number of use cases that users love using and how to make sure gamification of the app is unique. We are already seeing improvements in terms of retention and usage, number of users recommended how they want to use their points, so we are considering them as well. I guess you will just have to wait and see 😉
