# Steemit.com makes list as one of the Top 5 up and coming social media platforms to watch

Thehour.com put out an article today on up and coming social media sites and what ones they think you as a business should pay attention to.

Yes, the article is geared towards businesses and how to best advertise/market their brand.

They of course mentioned Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter as no brainers, but then went on to list 5 up and coming sites that they think might also be worth your time...

Interestingly enough, Steemit.com made the list at #4.

Even more interesting, Steemit.com was the only blockchain based social media on the list.

# Some thoughts...

While this isn't huge news per say, as I am not sure exactly how many people will end up seeing this, it is still free advertising/marketing for Steemit.com, something could we always use more of.

Especially when it is in the positive light!

It was also nice to see Steemit.com mentioned in the same list as TikTok, something that has been taking the younger generation by storm.

I found it especially interesting that Steemit.com was the only blockchain and crypto based social meida site that made the list. 

There have been tons of competitors popping up over the past couple years or so and that is saying something that they chose to highlight Steemit.com while excluding the others.

Hopefully we can soon turn it into something that is more than just an "up and comer"!
