What do you define Justice as ?

Justice can be equated with fairness and moral rightness, a system of law in which every person receives his/her due from the system including all rights, both natural and legal.

As the concept of justice has a distinct meaning to different individuals, there are various justice being exhibited in our society today.

One of them is *UTILITARIAN JUSTICE* which is a form of consequentialism, where punishment is forward-looking justified by the ability to achieve future social benefits resulting in crime reduction.

The moral worth of an action is determined by its outcome.

Another variation is *RETRIBUTIVE JUSTICE* which regulates proportionate response to crime proven by lawful evidence so that punishment is justly imposed and considered as morally correct and fully deserved.

However, we have *Restorative justice* which is concerned not so much with retribution and punishment as with making the victim whole and reintegrating the offender into society.

This approach frequently brings an offender and a victim together, so that the offender can learn about the effect his/her offense had on the victim.

One other variation of justice is the *Distribution justice* which illiterate directly at the proper allocation of things -wealth, power, reward, respect- among different people.

*Egalitarianism* is another principle of justice. It is the demand that everybody should be treated equally without privileged classes or sects for it posits that the circumstances of one's birth, family connection, wealth, or influence should not be the determining factors in the application of the laws of the state; hence, egalitarianism does not recognize natural privileges, but this is not to say that citizens cannot confer privileges on those they trust.

The popular image for Justice depicted by Lady Justice explains justice as equipped with three symbols: a sword symbolizing the court's coercive power; a human scale weighing competing for claims in each hand; and a blindfold indicating impartiality.

Hello friend, there are variants on justice according to what I can observe in your writing, generally when we talk about justice we demand that laws or decrees are executed on what is considered anti-moral and that sometimes can go unnoticed by who should exercise it.

I suppose we will find different meanings of the term justice, depending on the context to which it refers, but in general we can say that it is a way of acting with truth and equality, and this will also depend on the values of a society, making what some consider fair for others is not.

Dear @jsalvage , For example, the rich man can lower the sentence by paying compensation to the victim, but the poor man's position is different. This is because poor people cannot pay compensation to victims.

Is it possible to make an equal and just judgment between the rich and the poor?
