 Today I feel Borgesian again and delving into the labyrinths of memory, I have decided to rescue, from those remote prisons where History, inquisitive and partisan where they exist, subjugates with unyielding indifference to myths and legends, which comparatively and in their own way, were the town's first foray into fairytale fantasy.  And in doing so, I wanted to rescue the dying cry of this old Romanesque church from the 12th century, which has so much to do with the wonderful stories of our first-time Romancero, making it a participant, through each of the arches of its beautiful porticoed gallery, with those legendary seven infants from Lara, of whom it is said that, surprised by the Arabs while they were having lunch -hence, the name of the neighboring Sierra del Almuerzo- were, in their hasty flight, its true creators. What the people dream of, let man not forget.  Hoy vuelvo a sentirme borgiano y hurgando en los laberintos de la memoria, he decidido rescatar, de esas apartadas prisiones donde la Historia, inquisidora y partidista donde las haya, sojuzga con inflexible indiferencia a los mitos y a leyendas, que de forma comparativa y a su manera, fueron la primera incursión del pueblo en la fantasía de los cuentos.  Y al hacerlo, he querido rescatar el grito moribundo de esta vieja iglesia románica del siglo XII, que tanta relación tiene con las maravillosas historias de nuestro primerizo Romancero, haciéndola partícipe, por cada uno de los arcos de su preciosa galería porticada, con esos legendarios siete infantes de Lara, de los que se dice, que sorprendidos por los árabes mientras estaban almorzando -de ahí, el nombre de la vecina Sierra del Almuerzo- fueron, en su precipitada huida, sus verdaderos creadores.
