One of the most important spiritual activity a believer can engage in is to pray. Prayer touches God. Prayer is one of the most significant spiritual activity that we can do as believers. We contact God in our spirit and then assimilate Him when we pray. Whenever we pray right, we absorb God and then we soak Him up. When we pray, our spirit contact the Spirit of God and then absorb God.
The significance of prayer is not in asking God for things, but in contacting Him, absorbing and soaking ourselves in His presence. Whenever we spend time praying, we contact God, absorb Him and we are immersed in His presence. It is like dipping a piece of foam into water, when you bring out the foam it absorbs enough water. That is what happens to the believers when they pray to God.

To pray the prayer that soaks us up in God's presence we need to give in time to praying to God. Anything that we do in this life that the result is worth it it requires us to devote our time to it. Many people pray and give up halfway. Most times the problem is that they don't spend adequate time in the place of prayer and that is why it looks like nothing is happening.

One habit we should learn to cultivate when praying is patience. It goes a long way in making our prayers more effective.
