Facebook confirms the new feature.

As a rule, no "regret function" can be used after sending a Messenger message, but it may end. Facebook has confirmed to the TechCrunch website that they are planning an "unsend" feature for the message app.

The confirmation came after it became known that Messenger messages as Mark Zuckerberg had sent to users had suddenly disappeared - some common users have no opportunity to do so.

Several sources confirmed to Techcrunch that Facebook had actually deleted Zuckerberg's messages from people's inbox, on the grounds that this was a security measure to protect communication from management and reduce the risk of hacking.

However, Facebook did not inform anyone about the feature, and after TechCrunch made the case, Facebook responded by announcing that the feature should be rolled out to all users - while the company regretted the lack of information. Until the function is in place for everyone, Zuckerberg will not be able to delete messages.

It is not clear exactly what form the "unsend" feature will have, but a Messenger representative told TechCrunch that it is likely that it will be a time setting for the sender to decide how long the message should be in the recipient's inbox before it disappears.

The Facebook-owned Image Sharing Service Instagram already has an attack function in place for messages sent through Instagram Direct, which makes messages invisible to people in the conversation. In Instagram, this feature does not work for volatile images and videos.

It is unclear just when the new feature will be available to everyone, but it is supposed to be rolled out in the coming months.
