全球化与现代化

十五世纪，起源于欧洲葡萄牙西班牙三百年的大航海时代，把欧洲与非洲，与美洲，与亚洲，大洋洲们统统联系了起来，这虽是一种不够自觉的全球化运动的启蒙时代，但客观上它促进了全人类文明的传播，开辟了贸易市场，也为以英国为首的工业革命的兴起奠定了物质基础和内在的市场动力。但中国怎样？可怜它却没能赶上，仍然以为“天圆地方”，中国中国，乃中央之国，是天下的中心，夜郎自大，真的还没启蒙。
      
当蒸汽机变成一种动力时，火车把整个欧洲大陆联系了起来，轮船把世界联系了起来，古老的中国在西方文明与商品面前沦陷。这是文明竞争的结果，是不以人们的意志，尤其是不以中国人的意志为转移的结果。十九世纪在上海的租界出现了第一个抽水马桶，出现了第一条柏油马路，出现了第一只电灯，出现了第一个电话，第一个电报局，第一份报纸，第一辆自行车，第一台小汽车，等等等等。就算它是为殖民者服务的东西，但它是中国人向外窥视文明的窗口。这种不自觉走向自觉的过程，就是中国启蒙，走向近代化的过程。一味地痛斥殖民者，实质是在文明竞争失败后的哀嚎而已。
      
日本的近代化与中国近代化不同，它的特点国门不是被硬性轰开的，而是主动开国开放的。中国则是被迫轰开的，近代化的过程是痛苦的不自觉的。中国第一次鸦片战争失败时的1840年，日本还是一个旁观者，但日本又是一个以中国为教训的亚洲第一个醒悟的国家，这就是不同。日本隋唐以来一直以中国为师，但是近代旁观中国的陷落，果断放弃儒学汉学，不仅学习西方的器，更重要是学习西方的制，只用半个世纪就不仅打败了它曾经的老师，还打败了它北方的俄罗斯，从而引发了俄罗斯农奴改革运动。
      
日本返败为师，引发中国青年的留日潮，这是中国第一次自觉向东看，向西学的第一次留学潮。第二次是庚子退款引来了留学欧美又一次留学浪。第三次是改革开放后向东向西的留学潮。此三次留学潮是中国近代化基本过程，算下来已是一个半世纪过去了，用了太长的时间，太曲折的过程。当第三次全球化来到时，中国人全面走向世界，走向近代化时的标志是什么？就是中外通婚的普遍出现。这是世界文化融合的大趋势。不可逆转。马克思说：婚姻是社会的细胞。当整个细胞已在自觉变化时，近代化才有可能转型为现代化。
