Привіт, друзі.

Чи дивилися ви фільм «Ціна правди»? Ця стрічка про голодомор в Україні 1932-1933 років. Чесно кажучи, я так і не змогла переглянути її повністю. Просто не вистачило сили духу. Мабуть, у мені спрацьовує генетична пам’ять, що розливає потужну хвилю болі всім тілом та заперечує проти самознущання, в яке переростає сприйняття сюжету.

Have you seen the movie "The Price of Truth"? This tape is about the Holodomor in Ukraine in 1932-1933. To be honest, I was never able to watch it in its entirety. I just didn't have enough courage. Apparently, a genetic memory is activated in me, which spreads a powerful wave of pain throughout the whole body and objects to the self-abuse that the perception of the plot turns into.

Це кіно про Британського журналіста Гарета Джонса, який здійснив поїздку нашою країною у час голодомогу. Це був реальний чоловік, який першим заявив на всю Європу про те, що діється в Україні, про знущання режиму над людьми. 29 березня 1933 року він виступив на прес-конференції та розповів про голод. Гарет Джонс «кричав» на увесь світ про страшну правду, яку приховував радянський союз з росією на чолі. У найвідоміших друкованих джерелах таких як Daily Express,  New York Times, New York Evening Post та інших, з’явилися публікації, де автор розповів про те, що побачив на власні очі, подорожуючи Україною. 

На початку 1933 року Гарет Джонс здійснив поїздку до СРСР. На той час була заборона відвідувати союз закордонним журналістам. Попри це, він порушив її та, вийшовши в Харкові, подорожував коліями по різних селах. Все побачене журналіст старанно записував, щоб потім донести  до світу. За час подорожі він побачив тисячі смертей, хворих та скалічених голодом дітей, божевільних від недоїдання селян та тотальний страх. Гарет сам ледь не помер в Україні, він теж голодував та зазнав переслідування і жорстких допитів поки нарешті його не вислали додому у Великобританію.

>This is a movie about the British journalist Gareth Jones, who made a trip to our country during the hunger strike. He was a real man who was the first to announce to the whole of Europe about what is happening in Ukraine, about the abuse of the people by the regime. On March 29, 1933, he spoke at a press conference and talked about the famine. Gareth Jones "shouted" to the whole world about the terrible truth that the Soviet Union, led by Russia, was hiding. In the most famous printed sources such as Daily Express, New York Times, New York Evening Post and others, publications appeared where the author spoke about what he saw with his own eyes while traveling in Ukraine.
At the beginning of 1933, Gareth Jones made a trip to the USSR. At that time, foreign journalists were prohibited from visiting the union. Despite this, he violated it and, after leaving Kharkiv, traveled by tracks through various villages. The journalist painstakingly recorded everything he saw in order to convey it to the world. During his journey, he saw thousands of deaths, sick and crippled children from hunger, peasants maddened by malnutrition and total fear. Gareth himself almost died in Ukraine, he too was starved and subjected to persecution and harsh interrogations until he was finally sent home to Great Britain.

Радянський Союз, як відповідь на публікації Джонса, розпочав проти нього інформаційну війну. А 1935 року журналіста було вбито.

Як же Європа відреагувала на знищення цілої нації, яке відбувалося у неї прямо «під носом»? Чи були якісь дії чи хоча б наміри? Відповідь – НІ. Всі закрили очі та представили можливість росіянам знущатися над українцями, чинячи страшні речі та знищуючи цілі покоління.

На думку приходять віршовані рядки Олександра Олеся:

Коли Україна криваві жнива
Зібравши для ката, сама умирала
І з голоду навіть згубила слова,
Європа мовчала.

Коли Україна життя прокляла
І ціла могилою стала,
Як сльози котились і в демона зла,
Європа мовчала.

Це декілька стовпців вірша «Пам’ятай». Ми пам’ятаємо. Європа і весь світ – знають. росія, як завжди, несамовито бреше. Та кара кацапська вже поряд. Чекаємо… 

>The Soviet Union, as a response to Jones's publications, launched an information war against him. And in 1935, the journalist was killed.
How did Europe react to the destruction of an entire nation, which was happening right under its nose? Were there any actions or at least intentions? The answer is NO. Everyone closed their eyes and imagined the possibility of the Russians bullying Ukrainians, doing terrible things and destroying whole generations.
The poetic lines of Oleksandr Oles come to mind:
When Ukraine has a bloody harvest
Having collected it for the executioner, she herself died
And she even lost her words from hunger,
Europe was silent.
When Ukraine cursed life
And the whole grave became
As tears rolled down even in the demon of evil,
Europe was silent.
These are several columns of the poem "Remember". We remember. Europe and the whole world know. Russia, as usual, is lying wildly. But Katsapska's punishment is already near. We are waiting...
