Hi there. I already post on Steemit as @the-dagda, but I've decided that it was about time to set up a separate account for a music project I've been trying to work on for the last few years. And here it is.

My goal for this account is to try and document my journey from recording songs on my iPod through the mic of a set of Skullcandy headphones in my bedroom, to trying to semi-professionally record and release an album. If everything leading up to this moment right now is anything to go by then this journey is going to be a long one, but hopefully you'll have the patience to follow along with me. 

I'm hoping that by posting about my progress here on Steemit I'll be able to use the Steem/SBD I earn to fund my journey from bedroom troubadour to professional, performing musician. I'll be making sure to post about how I want to spend the money I earn here as I spend it so you know your upvotes aren't going to waste. In fact one of the major things I want to do first is to buy a half decent microphone, so that's what I'm going to be saving up my steem/SBD for early on. So expect a couple of posts about microphones, equipment, and the like, pretty soon. 

That leads me into another objective for this account. I'm going to need help. I'm hoping that I'll be able to use this account to ask questions people much more qualified than I can answer. I want advice, as much of it as I can get, because I really don't know what I'm doing. From composing, writing, playing, singing, recording, equipment, everything, I really don't have a clue about any of it, so any and all advice, criticism, and/or information is going to be encouraged, welcomed, and greatly appreciated. 

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I'm also going to be posting music here. My idea is to post songs even in their earliest incarnations to document how they change from the first draft to a final polished piece of music. So don't grow too attached to a particular song, because who knows how the music, lyrics, and even titles might change from recording to recording, haha. I think this might be an interesting glimpse into the process of making music. Up until I can afford to buy a mic all of the songs I'll be posting will be recorded on my iPod so don't expect the quality to be too great, but more on that in another post.

And speaking of music, you probably want to hear some right? I mean I haven't even mentioned what kind of music I'm trying to make, although that's because I really don't know what kind of music it is. But whatever, here's a song I recorded the other day, I'll be uploading it to dSound soon, too.

I normally prefer my voice to be more in the background of a song because it's awful and I can't sing, but I actually kind of like how it sounds on this song so I'm ok with it being at the front. As I said, this was recorded on my iPod, but I did a little post processing on it in Reaper, but I'll talk about that in a different post.
