>Image is mine. It is one of my favorites. I feel it is filled with hidden meanings and unspoken words. 

It was a warm Thursday morning. The sky was painted with hues of orange, a little touch of red, and blue. I’m not so great with colors, but I could feel the vibrant energy in the sky. It was beautiful. The sun was warm on my shoulders and the air was fresh, crisp, and alive. The birds seemed unusually quiet, as if they were still in their slumber. Perhaps they had a long day yesterday and decided to catch up on some well-deserved rest. My memory of that day might be a bit flawed, but somehow, I remember every detail like it happened yesterday. It was a lecture free day for all students - the Student Union declared it so due to reasons best known to them. I woke up feeling sharp and excited. I had a sweet dream the night before which explains why I woke up with enough strength to tackle not just that day, but also  the next.

I hadn’t washed my clothes in two weeks. Don’t blame me, blame life and my school. I'd been having back to back lectures for two weeks which explains why I'd not been able to wash them. After two weeks, I mustered enough courage and strength to bring the heap of clothes outside. To my surprise, almost everyone in my hostel also brought their clothes out to wash. At first, I felt really uncomfortable, but as soon as I sat down to start washing, my nerves became calm and free. We started talking about different things. From school life to family, friends, courses, cars and so on. So, there was this one person who was also washing outside, a girl, who started talking rudely to someone else. We all tried to caution her, but she wasn't really listening. It was only when we all got angry that she finally paid attention. But instead of apologizing, she said something like, "You  guys should stop yelling at me. I'm an Aries, and that's just how I am. I can't help it."

“Okay, great! Here we go again! Come on, let's have it.” I mustered to myself. I stared at my washing bowl, my heart sank. I  thought about what she had just said. I wanted to yell “make it make sense! Connect the dots!” but I kept my cool. I believe in a lot of things. Mock me or call  me a kid, but heck maybe I believe magic. Maybe I believe in fairies or maybe the books I've read have clouded my thoughts and are starting to take a toll on me. Just maybe. On the other hand, there's a lot of thing I don’t believe in. If I were to make a list, I think astrology would definitely come first.

I understand that people are free to believe in anything. I mean, it's up to you to believe whether ghosts exist or not. It is up to you to believe if Zodiac signs were real or not. No one would come for your head. The idea of Zodiac signs just doesn't sit well with me, and I don’t think anyone should live their life based on readings of the moon, stars or  something. Like I said, I don’t have a problem with people who belive in astrology. You are free to be proud of your Zodiac sign. However, using your Zodiac as an excuse for your silly behaviors, that's detrimental!

Astrology is fun. To an extent, it might be real. I mean, according to my birth month, I’m an Aquarius. Even though I may exhibit some behaviors associated with the Aquarius sign, I don’t  think they should be taken too literally.  Human beings are more complex to be categorized based on Zodiac signs. Even though I exhibit behaviors associated with the Aquarius sign, I would never use it as a cover-up for my bad habits. Surprisingly, some people use Zodiac signs to determine who they date or befriend. For example, some people might say, "I can't date you because you're an Aquarius and I'm a Sagittarius - we're not compatible." How in Polyphemus’ name should this even be legal? But of course, people are free to their opinions, right?

 I decided not to give my take on that matter because I felt things would be better that way. I stared into her eyes and I realized she was serious with what she had just said. She believes it is normal for her to talk rudely to people because she’s an Aries. It didn't sit well with me, but I decided to keep quiet fir peace to reign. I had finished washing my clothes, so I headed inside to tackle the test of the day.
