Well done on your seeds!! I think these trees are not very happy in cold weather so it may be useful to place facing the south and not the north, avoid placing them in windy and frosty areas if you can

Personally the thing I find most discouraging is how slowly they grow, like you mention. Theoretically I'm interested in growing my own vegetables and fruits, but the time span deters me: it's practically the same as growing kids!

Lemon trees grow very well in Cyprus, all over the place, which means the "dry and watered occasionally" hypothesis is very probably true.

Your lemons looks super healthy. I just moved mine back indoors, and they work quite well for my bonsai hobby, because they are slow growers and the new leaves are very petite.

The one in the back is a lime tree, and it has even smaller leaves, but more thorns. Mu'fav. Have you tried picking a leaf off? Heavenly scent.

Those are really tiny, you could have bought citrus seedlings at start but  I think you decided to try the difficult way. But I really appreciate your patience. I don't know much about gardening, but I think if you love this work and if you love your tree, it will grow faster. But I have one question! Which one will grow faster, Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy franchise or your lemon plant?

We have a few lemon trees here in Germany, but every winter (now again soon) we have to bring them inside, because outside it is too cold for them here. I guess I can tell you only things you know already anyway: these plants grow best in a warm and sunny environment. The soil shouldn't become too wet (but also not really dry), and is preferred not to be too dense (you can mix the earth with expanded clay or small stones for a better drainage). If you want to make it perfect the soil should contain humus-rich garden soil, compost and peat (a third of everything).

I like these trees because the flowers really scent fantastic.

Planting something different from a very unique way of growing system are quite satisfying. Container gardening is also the best access to have fresh supply of vegetables without taking up huge area. Glad to know these helpful tips!

Mother nagture has her own schedule, the trees will flower in about 5 years, if you are wise, you will only let 1 or 2 stay on the tree, the tree has the choice of growing or fruiting and for the first couple of years it is better to concentrate ob growth. 
Because our winters are milder we grow our trees outside, but would suggest as taller pot you can get would be an advantage.

Well if you want to improve growth you have two factors : sunlight and nutrition. You should first make a quick research what the optimum light cycle(daynight) cycle is for citrus plants. Then you can go ahead and make your own compost to gain top quality nutrition, that you have control over so you know no bad stuff is in there, and that should do wonders for your plant. Although your plants look pretty healthy I'd say.

When I was 10 years old, my mother put a bone lemon. The first 3-4 years it was look not like a tree, more like a stick with leaves. But in the fifth year the trunk got stronger, it even had a crust. The first fruits appeared only in 7th year.

I just checked out the link you shared mate, you have a nice array of veggies, just love it!
Concerning the lemon tree, if you want it to grow bigger, you must either use a bigger pot or plant directly in the soil. Cutting out some leaves and small branches from time to time also make the plant grow bigger!

Just be patient and make sure to feed it when it asks.  My lemon tree is doing great:

They look just fine to me for being 1 year old. But I have some bad news for you. These plants will probable never produce lemons, but some weird citrus fruit possibly unedible. Keep them happy & alive and updtade us in 6-7 years again 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
