Cryptocurrencies are plunging, led by ripple, bitcoin

•Bitcoin and ripple 9.2 percent and 11.7 percent, respectively.

•Ethereum prices, however, traded flat.
Ripple left counterparts like bitcoin, the 

•largest digital currency by market cap, in the dust last year.

Digital currencies fell broadly on Monday, with ripple and bitcoin leading the charge lower.
Ripple traded 11.7 percent lower on the Bitstamp exchange.
