Hardcore Minecraft ~ Round Two, pt2.

A quick recap!

<a href="https://peakd.com/hive-140217/@kaelci/hardcore-minecraft--round-two">Last week I dove back into the semi-relaxing world of Minecraft</a> in order to phase out of the real world for a little bit. I spawned in a terrible village, stole their vegetables and a bed and went off on an adventure. I found a perfect area for my home base, began my mine, found butt-loads of iron, began my y-11 branch mine, but most importantly, started work on the Great Storage House I failed to complete in my last Hardcore Minecraft world.

Now that the Great Storage House had been (mostly) built and populated with treasure chests, it was time to begin work on the all important food resources.

Piggies were the most accessible meat so they had first class placement in the first animal pen, though I soon collected some chickens and cows too.

All that's missing is sheep.

I didn't collect piggies and sheep last time -- this time that will be rectified. I love making patterns out of coloured wool, and I have plans. PLANS! Assuming I live long enough and don't fall through ceiling-holes in the Nether.

With storage and food sorted, it was time to delve back into the mine. Only, my mine was fairly large and I was getting tired of back-and-forthing for so long.

Thanks to my copious collection of iron, a railway was created! Now I can hop into a minecart, open Pokemon Go, and capture 1 to 2 pokemanz before my minecart reaches its destination.

Whilst in my mine, I found the remnants of a pretty crap mineshaft.

There wasn't much in it, unfortunately. It was one of those ones that spawned all over the place across a hundred crevices and lava and most of it doesn't seem to exist. And I didn't find any cave spider spawners.

So the search continues.

After lurking underground for what felt several decades, I decided to return to fresh air and sunlight and finish my house.

Originally it was going to be some sort of brick-and-quartz wonder, but decided I would go with dark oak instead. I still really like quartz as a building material though and am trying to come up with something fancy to make once I get to the Nether.

With all of my mining, I had enough diamonds to create a beautiful set of armour and all of the tools I would need.

But.

There was a problem.

This. This was my problem.

My library was not ready for enchanting yet. It wasn't ready for anything yet! I didn't even have one tiny book.

It was time to murder a bunch of creatures and skin them for their valuable leathers.

But... I didn't have enough cows. 

Last time, I ended up exploring far and wide trying to find randomly spawned cows, horses, donkeys and llamas to mindlessly attack. It takes a lot of time, and honestly, I want my library a little sooner than that.

The only other way I could think of was by mass-breeding my cows. For that, I needed a lot of bonemeal with which I could grow mass amounts of wheat in order to breed the cows.

So I jumped into my minecart and flew into the depths of my mine.
