**After going through several of the video lectures on the Coursera and Alison website, and doing a couple of activities, I got itchy and wanted to get into learning the actual coding language that is being used right now on real programs in the real world. *Scratch* is fun, and I am going to keep practicing with it, but I can't sit around and *Scratch* my ass all day either. Damn.**

I had mentioned that I was taking the intro to Java course at CodeAcademy.com. I was. I tried to continue today, but there was no way (well, none I could see, at least) to bypass the "upgrade now!" page. The site says that one does not have to upgrade to continue their basic courses, so I was confused. Every time I clicked "resume learning" (I was already halfway through a lesson) the site just shoved an "upgrade now" page in my face, with no way out. No close button, no bypass button, just me saying "fuck you" to my computer in a whiny childlike voice a few times. Well. Oh well. I'm over it. If anyone has encountered this before, or knows of a way around it, I'd be glad to know. It's quite possible I am just overlooking something very simple.

**I found a new course on Coursera offered by Duke university which is an intro to Java programming, CSS, and HTML. It seems to be pretty in-depth, and somewhat time-intensive without being out of my realm of feasibility. This course starts on the 17th. Wish me luck.**
